Quantum Computers Could Solve Countless Problems—And Create a Lot of New Ones

Quantum is the ‘next industrial revolution’, but it's also set to become a national-security headache.

BREAKING: Shocking autopsy reveals climate activist and pacifist Miguel Teran was shot at least 13 times by Georgia police. The state (@GBI_GA) must release all evidence – including critical body cam footage.

Feels like an ambush-style execution.

‘Cop City’ protester Manuel Terán shot at least 13 times by police – autopsy

Protester who opposed Georgia’s planned police-training facility was first environmental activist killed by police in US history

Environmental protests have a long history in the U.S. Police had never killed an activist — until now.

Police have often been important intermediaries in environmental protests. In a forest outside Atlanta, they were opponents.

One of the simplest, least disruptive direct actions we can take for climate change … it mystifies me that more governments and orgs aren’t doing more tree planting.

Planting more trees in cities could cut deaths from summer heat, says study

European research finds that increasing urban tree coverage to 30% can lower temperatures by 0.4C

@Jon6705 Even if it becomes possible, it's not a certainty. I'm hopeful humanity will not cross that line.

I find this powerfully #Alluring, yet worrying to say the least.

This sort of thing really plays havoc with my mind, and gives me all sorts of nightmares on the way things could go.

To the point AI implants a chip into every human brain at birth, enabling AI to remotely control everything, that humans are permitted or capable of doing:
their thoughts, comprehension, memory; disabling reproduction, euthanising remaining humans at an early age whilst we're asleep.

Here's a most fitting cartoon regarding that big ol' #ChineseSpyBalloon.

Pretty sure this will not pass #China's Great Firewall or censorship as #XiJinping is said to be a bit thin-skinned when it comes to being compared to Winnie the Pooh.

If it's not too late, I think US should try to recover the balloon... and perform breakdown of technology used.
