JayneAs a techie who understand the decentralized nature of the fediverse, the idea of "mastodon support" reaching out to users for account verification is a bit hilarious, ~but~ as a techie who understands the non-technical nature of most people, it is also a disappointingly devious scam
If you have no empathy or concern for people falling prey to such scammers, you can fuck right off
We have helped build the tech monoliths which trained users these patterns are normal. Tearing down the exploitative tech giants of yore for something better will require patience and understanding, not the same scorn and disdain that these giants have for us all as mere resources to be exploited
