Nothing like trying to figure out a manual written in another language to make me feel like an ignorant, self centered, stupid USian. We’ve been so isolated privileged for the last hundred or so years that others have catered to us and learned English so we could communicate. Even when we’ve had to take another language in school, it is usually quickly forgotten because it was never used outside the classroom

Young people: Learn Chinese, because the US is no longer on top (or won’t be soon)
