@meganL this free, open source (vibe coded?) app, Macabolic, might fit the bill—It is a yt-dlp front end, compatible with macOS 13.0 or later, that can download from other additional platforms as well as YouTube.. https://alinuxpengui.github.io/Macabolic/
(I know the URL has ‘GitHub’ in it, but it is a regular webpage and links out to a dmg containing a precompiled binary—drag and drop to install, double-click to run)
A guide on setting up Ente Photos, Auth and Locker using Docker-Compose for self-hosted media and account management.
#selfhosting #docker #dockercompose #opensource #photostorage #security #IT #technology #guide #servers #webdev #sysadmin #authentication #cloud #digital #tutorial
On the software side, I’m currently running:
• Raspberry Pi OS (64 bit) Debian Trixie
• Docker 29.1.2
• Runtipi 4.6.5 ( https://runtipi.io )
• Beszel 0.17.0 ( https://github.com/henrygd/beszel )
• Portainer 2.37.0 ( https://github.com/portainer/portainer )
• Linkwarden 2.13.2 (https://github.com/linkwarden/linkwarden )
• Plex 1.42.2 ( legacy, transitional )
• Jellyfin 10.11.4 ( https://jellyfin.org )
• IntroSkipper ( 1.10.11.9 )
• Elegantfin theme
• Trakt ( 27.0.0.0 )
In terms of hardware, I’m running:
• #raspberrypi 5, 8GB RAM, actively cooled, with a 256GB #SanDisk SD card
• #waveshare PCIe to 2 channel SATA Hat+
• 2.5-inch #crucial BX500 4TB SSD
• 2.5-inch HGST 500GB HDD, left over from an old PS4 upgrade
In an effort to regain some privacy and control over my own data, I’ve built a small #homelab server out of a #RaspberryPi 5 and a PCIe to Sata hat. It has been a fun journey, and I’ve been learning a lot about #docker containerization and general networking.
There’s so much more to learn and discover, and I’m grateful for all the help / advice more knowledgeable folks have given along the way.
@bigzaphod I've heard that we've seen three takes on the glass effect:
1. A Marketing take, in the keynote
2. Engineering take, in the betas
3. Design team's take, mostly in the session videos.
3 is the goal, might take a while to get there.
