Now that I'm a little settled here in the Fediverse, I'm going to make my first major change and move to a different Mastodon instance. Wish me luck!

For those of you who are considering doing this as well, here is the guide I am following:

https://blog.joinmastodon.org/2019/06/how-to-migrate-from-one-server-to-another/

How to migrate from one server to another

With the sad news that KNZK was shutting down we thought it might be useful for people to have a refresher on the features that Mastodon has built in that make moving instances easy and painless. Backing up Your Data Data export If you are moving to a new instance the first thing you will want to do is to get a backup of all of your data. Thankfully this process is painless with the Data Export tab under the “Import and Export” page.

Hello everyone! I'm opening up my little instance for anyone who might like to join. 🏳️‍🌈 🏳️‍⚧️ https://pinksheep.org 🏳️‍🌈 🏳️‍⚧️ We're queer, sex worker friendly, and body positive. Sydney/Australian time zone but open to the world. Our guidelines are here: https://pinksheep.org/about/tos Please share for visibility. 😀

Searching for more #women to follow (appreciating the nice content, guys, but my feed is getting pretty imbalanced!). If you post about #EUPolicy, #politics, #feminism, #gender, #SocialJustice, #HumanRights, #GenderEquality, #cycling, #BikeTooter, #CouchPeloton, #environment, #sustainability, #communications, #brussels, #europe, or related, please follow/boost/favourite/recommend/whatever. Will follow back.

All,

The moment has finally arrived! 🥳

and I have been hard at work for the past week putting together a Mastodon instance so that we can create a backup disability and chronic illness community.

It can be found here:

https://disabled.social

For now, we have set up a terms of service, privacy policy, rules and best practices.

I have plans to set up a Twitter space to go through each of these with the disability community directly to add/subtract/reword things.

disabled.social

A place for people who are chronically ill, mentally ill, disabled, and friends/families/allies to come together, meet, share knowledge and random banter, and just about anything else.

Nothing quite like encountering TERF-supporting cis women to boost your cardio. Damn. How difficult is it to listen to trans people & accept that what they’re saying about their lived experiences is true? Like, if a trans person says a guest speaker is highly problematic & that they don’t feel comfortable attending the event because of this person being there, ADDRESS IT AS AN ORGANISER. It’s not a philosophical debate. Seriously. 🙄

From what I understand, the original brewmaster for the Great Lakes Christmas Ale went to Thirsty Dog and this is the result. I like it.

#introduction

Hi friends! I'm a classical pianist and writer with an accidental reputation for 1) being funny/sarcastic, 2) championing the works of underrepresented composers, particularly women, and 3) making classical music generally fun/approachable/relatable.

You can hear me on your streaming service of choice, and read my writing in VAN Magazine or on my personal blog and Substack. Current projects include a world premiere of a new-ish piano concerto and a chapter in an upcoming book.

There have been many actors who have played Batman. Most of them are respected for putting their own spin on the character.

But, for me, no actor is Batman like Kevin Conroy.

From Batman:TAS, Batman Beyond, Superman: TAS, JL, JLU, & all the movies that came with it, HIS is the voice I remember as Batman.

While it's always difficult to act behind a mask, he only had his voice to make us believe.

And he did it unbelievably well.

Rest well, Dark Knight.

Conroy, who some consider the quintessential Batman, voiced the Dark Knight in the classic '90s animated series and Arkham video games.

Unexpected development to joining Mastodon: Soundcloud accts are relevant again?

To wit: I've been _living_ inside this track "Paths in the Sky" by Metric from their latest album FORMENTERA. Every track on the album is can't-miss.

Paths in the Sky

The vinyl artwork for Metric’s new album, Formentera, includes a motto that sums up the past few years: This Is What Happened. It’s an understatement that manages to say everything. Even real places
