It let's you capture and log the birds you hear around you. It shows pictures of the birds, in fact its like a kinda #nature version of Pokemon GO
#foss and #opensource like this are just so incredible to me. Such a unique offering I'd never look for, but stumbled across.

I use Mint. Snaps drove me away from Ubuntu. Personally I don't think Mint looks dated. You can configure it's appearance anyway, to suit your aesthetic preferences.
As someone else put it, "Snap occupies a loopback device which is not acceptable. It forces updates from questionable sources and is a prime way to attract a trojan horse. It creates a lot of duplication. Again, Snap is a threat to Linux."
