I've never had anything to do with Macs in the past, however someone gave me a 2012 iMac which had been running badly since its last update. Having used #Linux for 22 years and having installed it hundreds of times, I decided to blow away OSX and try replacing it with #LinuxMint 21.1 It now runs brilliantly. Used four partitions - Efi, root, home and swap.

The 21.5" screen quality is brilliant. The specs are pretty good too for a 10 year old unit - 2.7 GHz quad core Intel i5; 8 GB ram; 1TB HDD.
