I'm over my self-pitying rant.

I will stop reading comments before I stop posting.

I think, though, that helping people understand the First Amendment issues at stake in the gag orders is less important than helping people understand that the real danger to democracy is misinformation and disinformation, and these things cannot be fixed through the legal system.

While I'm glad Trump's criminality and corruption is coming into focus, I also hope that doesn't cause us to ignore his terrifying, deadly level of incompetence at being president. This is the man who urged the public to prevent COVID by injecting bleach.

One of the things I’ve learned about the consequences of bullying is that when people tell you things like “I’m pretty bad at math” or “computers aren’t for me” or “I don’t really get art or fashion” and you talk to them for a bit what you often find - not always, but often - is what that really means is “somebody treated me like shit for trying to like this when I was 9.”

@tchambers @tiffanycli It is only rational to be concerned, worried, even afraid. But must not let those feelings paralyze us. We have to use them to spur us to action. In addition to @indivisibleteam, I recommend getting involved with one or both of these organizations.

It's easy to feel powerless. "Well, what can _I_ do to make things better?"

One simple thing we all can do is help accelerate the demise of X before Musk fully weaponizes it for fascism, hate and abuse.

Please speak up in your organizations, your communities, your networks, and help folks get off X completely.

There's a reverse network effect. Every person or org shutting down their account makes it easier for the next person or org to do the same.
