Hey friends: I'm so so so proud of the stories and writers that have appeared in TBD this year and what we've accomplished together. Onward!

If you've got a story, I'd love to read it! Submit to Vol 05: WAYFINDING at http://BureauDispatch.com/submissions #writingcommunity #litmag #amreading

A detail of the gorgeous font on a typing practice sheet. I mean!!!
After purchasing my new (to me) typewriter, I lugged it around Manhattan for the rest of the day, which surely counts as my workout for the weekend. At dinner with my husband and a friend, the restaurant offered to store it for me, to which I responded “NO” a little too quickly and hugged it to my chest. 🙃 #MyPrecious

I tried many machines at the tiny typewriter store and didn’t feel like I had to bring one home today. Pictured myself with a sleek Italian model at some point. But a few minutes in front of this machine was enough to change my mind. Not only did the keys feel right to me, the unique font seemed like a mechanical version of my handwriting (much neater and easier to read).

Specs: 1959 Olympia SM3 De Luxe, italic font, dark green & chrome w/original case

The extra labor one has to do as a Black person IS the problem.

Having to move to an instance where people understand by default IS the issue.

White people don’t have to find an instance where it’s okay to talk about their daily lives of being white.

Just realized I can’t find my own unlisted posts! So #DisabledBlackTalk will have to do until I find a solution…

How Drawing Helps Us Observe, Discover, and Invent

The practice of drawing is a simple and accessible means to become more mindful and aware of our inner and outer worlds.
