So I guess we’ll all be back over here for the next few days until the bird site fixes itself again…

The "generalizability" problem is easy to grasp: very few research samples and first authors in the beheavioral sciences are from the Global South

Looks like #Instagram is trying to get more “authentic” and reciprocal, interactive engagement with their new “candid” feature… interesting trajectory from highly curated posts to ephemeral stories and now candid stories like BeReal… seems like all of their new features are just ripoffs of other platforms… #Snapchat, #TikTok, #BeReal, etc…

Still trying to revive the network in social networking service in the age of social media

I haven't seen this before. Do other publishers do this?

T&F seem to have a dashboard that pools all submissions across any T&F journal. This shows manuscripts in progress at two different journals.

If you click on a submission you get the full dates for every status change.

Is it OK to spend 12 months to get a visa to attend a 3-day conference?

My piece in Science (@sciencemagazine) sheds light on this issue many scholars from institutionally discriminated countries experience on a regular basis

Spoiler: 12 months, 900$, get rejected

Visa bureaucracy makes scientific conferences inaccessible for too many researchers

“To truly foster inclusivity, meetings must be hosted in more open countries,” this researcher writes

I've recently confirmed Erasmus funding to be in Berlin (and Slovenia...) for 2-3 weeks in late June 2023 after #ICA23.

I will be visiting Uni Potsdam, possibly at @Weizenbaum_Institut again, and then down to Uni Primorska.

I'm keen to meet with whoever I can while I'm there (let me know if interested) as its been a while since I was last in Berlin (let alone out of South Africa)

So, based on this poll looks like the #fediverse is primarily European/American. Only 1% of respondents were from Africa...

Sure, I'll try my best (also being relatively new here myself): As far as I understand it, groups are a way to follow specific topics and for sharing content in a more targeted fashion with specific communities. You can "join" the group by following it and share content with the group by tagging it (I hope this explanation is correct and useful).
