Good to see someone saying this. The propensity of people #OnHere to be maximally certain that their preferred policy is also electoral magic is extremely frustrating. Trump should be impeached on the merits, but he won't be removed and the electoral effects are not clear.

@scottjenson @mormund for your consideration: I have a set of politics filters with over 400 terms, which I laboriously keep in sync, by hand, across multiple Mastodon accounts - most of which I'll permanently migrate to other ActivityPub software in the next couple months.

these filters allow me to engage with the omnipresent flood of (mostly US) politics #onhere when & how I want.

maybe Mastodon needs better filtering beyond just whole-word + substring, and a way to easily share filter sets.

I cross-posted the same AI-generated picture of my smiling heterosexual Christian family on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X, Threads, and Mastodon, and only #onhere did it get zero likes or engagement. anyone #OnHere have experience creating and editing closed captioning files for video? my auntie is a #deaf #herbalist making videos to share her knowledge, and while she and her assistants also use #ASL, it's super important to her that her materials be as accessible as possible to a wide ranging audience, so accurate captioning is a *must*

i will be helping her with video editing, but there is little budget for us getting started, so i'm looking for low-cost options first
