I wonder how professors (or, I guess, their teaching assistants) are grading. Perhaps they're using AI and there are no humans involved in the assessment.

I wonder how many hiring managers are able to do the kind of basic assessment that that one did.

Fun† fact: 30 years ago in a Seattle art gallery I spotted a sketch of a cell, hand-drawn by Chuck Jones, of Max holding a mirror that reflected the Grinch. Apparently it's one of only a few brief moments where both characters appear in the same cell. At the time I could not justify paying $1100 for it. I now cannot justify having refused to pay $1100 for it.

One way it can be always higher than average is if it is always at or above the previous maximum rate, and there was at least one day when it was lower: 10, 20, 20, 20, …

But still, it would be nice if they didn't attribute the wait time entirely to forces beyond their control.

I would enjoy having one big enough to for me to mingle with most of my various social spheres, but without all of the capitalist gunk baked in.
