Portrait shader progress! Much nicer head shapes and eyes. There’s even hair! Although it mostly oscillates between looking like a terrible wig and a melting metroid….
Oh, I almost forgot - there’s one more feature I’ve added recently. Yarnspin already have three display filter settings: none, pc and tv, where pc/tv are the two variants of my CRT emulation shader. I’ve now added another called ”lite” which is a new crt mode, less blurred, no chromatic aberration, no curvature. Useful for getting a much lighter CRT effect

Another material done! This one is copper! It was a bit difficult to get the proper shapes and shading for this one but I'm quite happy. @liblast Is getting more and more materials and I'm quite grateful to be able to work in such a nice thing <3

Last image is a copper ball for comparison .

Since I can now share stuff from my work, here are some tricks we used to take our #PixelArt to the next level for Aethermancer.

- Custom Lighting with pseudo 3D effect

- Plants affected by wind (and the player)

- Fog (It's a gloomy game, we got to have fog)

As in, WebGPU is very much a "modern graphics API design" as it was 8 years ago by now. Better late than never, but... What's "modern" now seems to be moving towards like: bindless everything (like 3rd iteration of what "bindless" means), mesh shaders, raytracing, flexible pipeline state. All of which are not in WebGPU.
