Just so everyone here knows, I will be migrating this account over to my new account @cliffwade and therefore will not be posting or replying from this account any further.

It's been a great run for #AllThingsTech but unfortunately the time has come for something new.
Time to do a little #Introduction post since I am now on a new instance.
I was the former admin of AllThingsTech.social along with my good friend @beardedtechguy but we had to shut it down, which means it was time to find a new home. Starting today and going forward, the place I call home will be infosec.exchange.
My previous account was: @cliffwade
Here's a little bit about me. I'm currently 53, a very happy #Husband, a #Cat dad to two amazing kitties, Bess(16) and Kumquat(4), lover of all things #Tech and I've been playing #VideoGames since the early 1970's and have yet to run out of lives. I'm also a part-time #Blogger / #Writer I guess you can say. I also love to post about #Nature #Sunrise #Sunsets #Food and numerous other things.
I like to ramble a lot when I post, which is part of why I came to infosec.exchange as I needed that 11,000 post character limit. 🤪

It is with a very heavy heart that @beardedtechguy and @cliffwade are having to make this announcement, however, it's something that needs to be done. Unfortunately we are going to need to shut down AllThingsTech.social, the Mastodon instance and the blog.
There are several reasons for this, but the biggest reason is the fact that we simply don't have the funds to continue paying the server fees associated with it any longer. (continued...)

Hello (again), indieweb dot social!
Here's a new #introduction
I've been active on and off on this account, but with my previous home instance allthingstech dot social being shut down in the near future, this is where I will be now!
I'd like to thank @cliffwade and @beardedtechguy for really introducing me to both the fediverse and blogging
I wouldn't be an #IndieWeb builder if it weren't for them and AllThingsTech
Since I'll be shutting down #AllThingsTech my goal is to find a server that's not large like Mastodon.social or anything similar, an instance that is run by a great admin and great moderators, has a post character limit of at least 1,500 characters and hopefully poll option limits of 8 - 10 or more.
If you know any instance that fits those requirements, please let me know. I'm open for suggestions from all of you as I'd love to find the best place to call home.

@DragonD You can keep your followers and following if you migrate to a new instance via your Preferences. Posts you can't really keep, but you can follow this information:
If it helps, to save your content, you can import your posts via the RSS feed that's built into a profile...just add ".rss" - For example https://allthingstech.social/@username.rss
It's not quite the same, but at least you can get something.
@shellsharks Thank you! It was certainly a hard decision to make, but it had to be done.
I'm absolutely loving it here so far and sure I will going forward.
