Yesterday, @stevewfolds mentioned the NSU Sport Prinz, introduced in 1958. This provided the basis for the car shown here, the 1963 NSU Wankel Spider, the company’s first rotary-engined model. In this case, the rotary engine was at the rear. I saw this one at the Bremen Classic Motor Show in 2014.

Hier in meinem Exil muß ich noch ein paar Stunden auf die Kaltfront warten. Bis dahin denke ich einfach an einen Eisvogel.

These days I’m most likely to find beauty in the viewfinder of the camera. I’m not blind to the nightmare all around us, but there are times when I’ve seen enough.

Saw these cuties in the Tillamook state forest, Oregon.

@dillyd You're near my neck of the woods, sorry it's so hot
@camless
I escaped the Montreal heat wave last week but I caught the heat here! At least my parents have air conditioning.
@dillyd Please let me know if you would like any recommendations 🫠 Safe travels!
@camless
Thanks! Alas my trip is almost done, and I'm just going to do a short hike nearby on my last day.
@camless
It occurs to me, even though it's too late for this trip, to ask for recommendations for future trips. What are your favorite hikes and things to see?

@dillyd It depends what type of trip you want it to be, there is so much out here. Some of my favorites:

Hiking among the Cascade Range volcanoes (Jefferson, Hood, Bachelor, Three Finger Jack, Three Sisters).

Timberline Lodge near Mt. Hood.

Multnomah Falls

Crater Lake National Park (before our government makes it implode).

Cape Kiwanda and Pacific City on the coast.

Charleston and the string of state parks (Shore Acres, Sunset Beach) near Cape Arago.

Steens Mountain and the Alvord Desert and hot springs in the southeast

Newberry Volcanic Monument in central Oregon.

Owyhee Canyonlands.

Astoria and the North Coast.

Neahkanie Mountain and Cape Falcon trails.

Cape Lookout State Park.

John Day Fossil Beds.

Oregon's Painted Hills.

Pendleton Round Up (big rodeo).

@camless awesome, thanks. I've been to a small fraction of these. So much more to see!
