Not as hazy today, but a little warmer. Still a fine morning walk about the wetlands. Birds spotted: pelicans, great blue herons, Canada geese, cormorants, osprey, red-tailed hawks, and red-winged blackbirds. 🌾🌞

Sesame Street came out right as I was starting first grade. All the parents were so excited about it and made sure we all watched it from the very first episode. (Electric Company came out soon after, and was even better.)

The birth and death of public educational programming feels like bookends to my life. It is like shutting a door, rather than a proper goodbye.

Our walk was butterflytastic at the old airfield woods today. All the usual Orange Tip, Red Admiral, Comma etc, plus Common Blues were out in force today (lovely grassland habitat with clover and trefoil left between the old airfield roads) supplemented with the occasional Adonis blue, but I saw this one I couldn't put a name to.

I expect someone will flutter by on the Fedi to help with that.

NEVER MIND, I've got it (I think)... it could be a Brown Argus.

St Patrick's Chapel in Heysham was built in the C8th and was a place of worship in the Celtic tradition from at least the C6th - long before the Norman Conquest, and possibly even before the Saxons arrived here.
