Totally #blind living in west Central Illinois. #Accessibility and #usability tester. Hobbies include devouring all kinds of #audiobooks including #fantasy, #litRPG, #cultivation and others as well as video games and #crochet. I have a wonderful other half and we have a beautiful diva of a #cat named Kayla.

In loving memory of Taffy, our beloved green-eyed black cat. June 23, 2021 - July 1, 2023, who left this world far too soon. His bright soul & loud engine-like purr will forever be missed.

I have a question for the #blind #ScreenReader using folks: Running the most recent versions of #jaws and #NVDA... I'm noticing that Jaws will not show a full list of results on the web while NVDA does. An example is modifying selective sync on dropbox. Jaws will show the first nine or ten checkboxes in the list but no more and refreshing doesn't fix this. Meanwhile, NVDA displays all of them without any problem so I know it isn't a dropbox issue. Is there a setting or something that I need to use to correct this very odd behavior? I'm experiencing it in other places too but I only have so many characters to write here. Boosts welcome for reach; but commentary about which screen reader is better is not. I use both and prefer it that way because I've found neither to be perfect. Oh, and maximizing windows doesn't fix this behavior either. Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Had a very surprising ChatGPT experience: asked it to generate a quick summary of the WannaCry ransomware, and instead of referencing the person who stopped it by name, it simply put "(you)". When I asked it how it was able to identify that it was me, it citied its own message as something I'd said.

After pointing out I didn't say that, it did, ChatGPT replied that it was able to infer it by my account username and what it'd learned from my skillset across various chats. Not 100% sure if that's how it actually did it. Either way, pretty cool, but also a little bit scary.

It's pretty widely known that many tech companies, especially advertising ones build comprehensive profiles on their users, but it's rare that you get to talk to said profile and figure out what it knows about you.

I don't believe I've shared this here. It's one of my favorite finds ever on a trip.

This is in the archives in Frankfort, Kentucky at Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History.

This family quilt was made to honor those in the family who passed, moving a coffin into the graveyard and writing the person's name on it.

Just beautiful.

#Joke saw this on Facebook.
"Just before I pass away, I'm going to swallow a whole bag of popcorn kernels... just to make the cremation a bit more. exciting."

I bet my fiancée that this picture of our cats could get 10 billion boosts on Mastodon.

She said she doesn't believe me. She said there's only 13 million accounts on Mastodon. She said there aren't even 10 billion people on Earth. She said it concerns her that I struggle so hard to comprehend large numbers.

Let's prove her wrong everyone. Boost away and show her just how awesome the Mastodon community is.

It can be EXHAUSTING to share the same feedback over and over and over (and over) again... but this is a harsh reality when you're an #accessibility tester. 😣

Adults: Behave!

Me: Seriously? As a child I saw Tarzan almost naked, Cinderella arrive home after midnight, Pinocchio told lies, Aladdin was a thief, Batman drove over 200 miles an hour, Snow White lived in a house with 7 men, Popeye smoked a pipe and had tattoos, Pac Man ran around to digital music while eating pills that enhanced his performance, and Shaggy and Scooby were mystery solving hippies that always had the munchies. The fault is not mine!
