And the Qatari royal family has been unsuccessfully trying to sell it for five years.
CoPilot estimates reopening Alcatraz as a prison will cost around $150 Million and will have 300 inmates. That means each inmate will cost the taxpayer $500,000 per year. That seems expensive to me.
A reminder: The reason so many firms on their websites constantly urge you to install and use their apps instead of their websites is that the apps typically give them access to VASTLY more data about you and your activities. Don't fall for it.

And the Qatari royal family has been unsuccessfully trying to sell it for five years.
@georgetakei He'd better let his mechanic take a look at it first
@albnelson @georgetakei no please, let the thing crash with trump, musk, vance and the whole corrupt bunch in it
@albnelson And the security service, no doubt the plane is wired. @georgetakei
@georgetakei he is being given leftovers. So puny, weak, disgraceful. Sad.
@david @georgetakei This may be the only argument that gets through. All the parades in the world won’t make people forget he’s flying around in leftovers, a handmedown. The military parade looks like even more of a joke.
@georgetakei
In reality it matches Donald
Lotta hours on engines
Short endurance
Rusty spots
Airframe issues
Outdated electronics.
Yep
Perfect match for that loser !
@georgetakei In fairness, "embarrassing, weak, and unAmerican" descibes the orange shit stain perfectly. Seems like the perfect mode of transport for the trumpafia.

@georgetakei
It'd be pretty poetic justice if he dies in a crash because of a combination of taking bribes and destroying air safety for everyone.

And then the Qataris are out $400 million and their puppet.

Hey, dreams like that keep us going.

@georgetakei Even if it were brand new, this should be a no-brainer.

I suppose about now all 747s are used, or at least no longer new, Boeing stopped making them did they not.

An Airbus 380 would the biggest royalest plane anyone could have, 4 engines and all.

@georgetakei

Final Boeing 747 Airplane Leaves Everett Factory

- The final 747-8 Freighter will be delivered to Atlas Air in early 2023 - Iconic plane transformed global travel after entering service in 1970 The last Boeing (NYSE: BA) 747 left the company's widebody factory in advance of its delivery to Atlas Air in early 2023. "For more than half a century, tens of thousands of dedicated Boeing employees have designed and built this magnificent airplane that has truly changed the world. We are proud that this plane will continue to fly across the globe for years to come," said Kim Smith, Boeing Vice President and general manager, 747 and 767 Programs. The 747 has played a key role in Boeing's history of aerospace leadership. Production of the 747, the world's first twin-aisle airplane, began in 1967 and spanned 54 years, during which a total of 1,574 airplanes were built. At 250 ft 2 in (76.2 m), the 747-8 is the longest commercial aircraft in service. At typical cruising speeds, the 747-8 travels roughly the length of three FIFA soccer

There's a saying among boaters: a free boat is never free.

@bruce @georgetakei

The happiest days of a boat-owner’s life are the day they buy the boat and the day they sell it.

@georgetakei so the software is at least 10 years old...

wasn there something about 10 years ago in that software?

@georgetakei

It's a tax write-off for the Qatari - kind of like 1-800-Kars4Kids only for idiots.

@georgetakei

What does the US Constitution say?

One provision states that Congress must approve any gift from a “King, Prince, or foreign State” to an elected US official. The other prohibits the president from receiving a gift beyond salary for the job.

Congress has approved gifts from foreign governments in the past, including in 1877, when accepting the Statue of Liberty from France.

#gifts

@georgetakei The whole point is that in three years it will become Trump's PRIVATE plane (via his "library"). It's not really intended to serve as an AF1.

@georgetakei

That's a great image, Trump flying around in a Value Village donation from the Qataris.

@georgetakei Folks we're bankrupt, and not just morally. Trumpachev is helping us all to know our time is over, we must go back to meager means. Hopefully the last American will soon realize this and stop pretending we still have things we don't. In stead of gun, sex and drugs, we should be following China's example and surround our kids with robots, family walks in the park, AI, sciences and things to help their brains grow.
@georgetakei
So....
This gift is them unloading property they can't get rid of?
How.... classy....
@georgetakei And it will cost a billion to convert it to a safe presidential aircraft. I've heard since it cannot be legally gifted to the White House, it will be given to Trump's Presidential Library foundation. Which means, when he leaves office, it will not be US Gov property, but his. It's both a waste of money and a bribe.
@georgetakei I think they’re actually trying to show off to Putin, that they TOO can fuck with this monumentally stupid man. 🤔
@georgetakei
A friend of mine has this old Ford Kuga that's regularly acting up... - might Trump be insterested in that, too? Just asking...
@georgetakei they are not giving it to us. They are giving it to him, to keep after his time in office too. It will be renovated with taxpayer money until then. So it's a great deal for him.

@georgetakei

The 🍊💩 will go ballistic when he sees this. He cannot stand being called WEAK.

@georgetakei the plane is expensive to fly and maintain, a white elephant!

@georgetakei

Second rate, second hand...

@georgetakei So, it's actually a "white elephant" - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_elephant
White elephant - Wikipedia

@georgetakei Its like being gifted a cyber truck.
@georgetakei
It's a yard sale reject.
@georgetakei Then someone should tell Mr. Lieu to start getting onto Boeing's ass for dragging their feet on the replacement AF1 aircraft. #MisplacedPriorities

@georgetakei

Only a clown like Trump would take it…

@georgetakei so a nice deduction on the tax-forms this year?
@georgetakei Does no one in the Regime Actuel consider "ESPIONAGE?"
