I was today years old when I learned about #Homosaurus (https://homosaurus.org/v4) and #Gender #Sexuality and #Sexual Orientation Ontology (https://www.ebi.ac.uk/ols4/ontologies/gsso), 2 resources for librarians cataloging/describing #LGBTQ books and other materials. Since I order books on these topics, these lists are very helpful!

Proud of myself. I started the summer with a goal of submitting 2 #scholarly articles (both original #research) before the start of Fall semester, and I did it! Although I know they will need more work (please be kind, Reviewer 2!), it feels good to move forward on work that I'd put aside when Dad died. Life, love, and #libraryhistory go on.

The DOJ has issued more guidance about #university #DEI activities which are now "illegal." Most are not surprises, but I'm concerned about new prohibitions on 1). essays that ask students to talk about personal challenges, 2). scholarships for first generation college students, and 3). facilities for certain demographic groups. Just heard of "Project Oversight"--Heritage Foundation's harassing public #universities that are offering coursework related to #DEI. It is demanding #syllabi and other materials from UNC. Another example of the #GOP's overreach into the intellectual and social development of our country. The "kids" attending these courses are adults age 18+, most voluntarily enrollment.
