I haven't been posting much because I am on sabbatical, doing #libraryhistory research. Here is a gem that I found today in a scrapbook. Fun for folks who research #gender and #womens history!
A #libraryhistory find of a lifetime! This cabinet was used by the #Pennsylvania State Library in the late 1890s-early 1920s to ship "traveling #libraries" of #books to #rural communities that did not have public libraries of their own. I told the owner "take my money." PRICELESS!
How an #introvert spends #Christmas ... building #LEGO while listening to family and TV chatter. I *love* #travel, so the new Postcards series makes me happy. ๐ฆ๐บ๐จ๐ณ๐ฎ๐น๐ฏ๐ต๐ฌ๐ง๐บ๐ฒ
Thinking of my parents on what would have been their 50th wedding anniversary. They met in the early 1970s when Mom applied for a job at a Friendlys where Dad was working, and they married on October 25, 1975 at St. Mary's in New Bedford. They never had it easy, but Daddy used to say, "marriage is a decision you make every day, with everything you do." I hope my parents are enjoying cake and a slowdance wherever they're at. <3
