Is there any published list of the literature that was dropped by the College Board from the Advanced Placement African American Studies curriculum? I would like to get ahold of that literature and read it.

#RonDeSantis reportedly took #AdvancedPlacement classes in high #school that he’s now threatening to deny to #Florida students.[He] was even named the “AP U.S. #History student of the year” as a senior'

'The important thing to understand is that people like #DeSantis are attacking #education, not because it teaches liberal #propaganda, but because it fails to sustain the ignorance they want to preserve'

Ron DeSantis Reportedly Took Advantage Of AP Classes He Now Wants To Deny Florida Kids

The conservative governor's mantra: Advanced Placement classes for me but not for thee.

It’s remarkable to read the #CollegeBoard’s statement about their interactions with #Florida’s Department of #Education. Definitely read the whole thing, but here’s just one quote:

“We have made the mistake of treating FDOE with the courtesy we always accord to an education agency, but they have instead exploited this courtesy for their political agenda.”

I’m glad to see some pushback against #DeSantis.

College Board Commitment to AP African American Studies – All Access

Our commitment to AP African American Studies, the scholars, and the field.

@edutooters @edutooter #CollegeBoard makes business decisions. The calculation they cynically made, most likely, is that the disruption they are seeing now is a fraction of what they'd have seen if they stayed the course on #APAfricanAmericanStudies.
Why are we surprised that #CollegeBoard caved to pressure over #APAfricanAmericanStudies? We aren't talking about what's right or wrong. We're talking about money and influence in the world of #school to come, after the last two bricks of the noble and progressive vision of American public #education have been dismantled, and the enterprise finally murdered. Sharks will always swim to where the blood is. @edutooters @edutooter

I wanted to research more about why many white ppl. are so adamantly against #APAfricanAmericanStudies & #CRT
I thought I already had a good idea but I discovered more in the psychology article: Why are some White People so Mad about #CriticalRaceTheory?

The AP Course designed by the College Board was in the process of trying to launch this AP course for #APAfricanAmericanStudies more broadly across the nation according to a Joy Reid interview with Steve Bumbaugh.

Republican efforts to create controversy about this course, still in the process of development & adoption, are efforts to quash a more widespread launch.

#APAfricanAmericanStudies has put high school curriculum in the news, but we need #BlackHistory taught in all schools and at all ages, particularly to our youngest students.

The College Board should not be diluting its #APAfricanAmericanStudies curriculum, regardless of the reason. We all need to learn #BlackHistory because it is part of all of our stories.
