Is there any published list of the literature that was dropped by the College Board from the Advanced Placement African American Studies curriculum? I would like to get ahold of that literature and read it.

#RonDeSantis reportedly took #AdvancedPlacement classes in high #school that he’s now threatening to deny to #Florida students.[He] was even named the “AP U.S. #History student of the year” as a senior'
'The important thing to understand is that people like #DeSantis are attacking #education, not because it teaches liberal #propaganda, but because it fails to sustain the ignorance they want to preserve'

It’s remarkable to read the #CollegeBoard’s statement about their interactions with #Florida’s Department of #Education. Definitely read the whole thing, but here’s just one quote:
“We have made the mistake of treating FDOE with the courtesy we always accord to an education agency, but they have instead exploited this courtesy for their political agenda.”
I’m glad to see some pushback against #DeSantis.

I wanted to research more about why many white ppl. are so adamantly against #APAfricanAmericanStudies & #CRT
I thought I already had a good idea but I discovered more in the psychology article: Why are some White People so Mad about #CriticalRaceTheory?
I've summarised some points in the comments or here's the link

The AP Course designed by the College Board was in the process of trying to launch this AP course for #APAfricanAmericanStudies more broadly across the nation according to a Joy Reid interview with Steve Bumbaugh.
Republican efforts to create controversy about this course, still in the process of development & adoption, are efforts to quash a more widespread launch.

#APAfricanAmericanStudies has put high school curriculum in the news, but we need #BlackHistory taught in all schools and at all ages, particularly to our youngest students.
The College Board should not be diluting its #APAfricanAmericanStudies curriculum, regardless of the reason. We all need to learn #BlackHistory because it is part of all of our stories.
