In France, we don't say "vibe-coded contribution" but "merde request" and I think it's beautiful 💩

Not "Atlassian laid off 1,600 people, 10% of its workforce"

But rather: "Atlassian leadership, with 300,000+ paying customers & ~5.2 billion USD in revenue & 6+ billion USD in assets in 2025, failed to line up their financial projections with their own staffing projections, and acted to place the burden of this gap on their direct reports rather than leadership, executive compensation packages, assets, or shareholders"

Layoffs should be personally mortifying. Boards should change.

For shame.

Do read this transcript, related to efforts of the federal judiciary in New Jersey to ensure a lawfully appointed U.S. Attorney there. Undercovered situation.

Read the entire document, I promise it is worth it. #LawFedi

Again, Molly White (@molly0xfff) is doing by far the best journalism about the massively corrupt cryptocurrency "industry" and how it's a threat to everyone's financial health. Her latest newsletter highlights ways the sleaze includes top politicians, especially (of course) Trump.

Issue 102 – The public will pay

Justin Sun buys his way out of an SEC fraud case, Iranian transactions on Binance draw DOJ scrutiny as the exchange sues the newspaper that reported on them, and crypto super PACs dump millions into Tuesday’s primaries in Illinois.

If you want a rigorous analysis of why statistical #AI models collapse when continuously trained on their own data without external supervision and constraints, read this amazing paper from last year.

If you want to get a visual intuition of how model collapse looks like, look at this video.

When AI stares at its own reflection for too long, and its inference is purely rooted on statistics rather than reasoning, this becomes statistically inevitable.

Keep this in mind whenever you hear someone talking about “AI models learning from their own outputs” without addressing the statistical parrot issue.

Over the past few weeks, several US banks have pulled off from lending to Oracle for expanding its AI data centres, as per a report. So Oracle is now firing 30000 engineers as banks pull out from financing AI data centres and OpenAI deals to meet fools dream. Wise investors are pulling out of data centres now as they found out it's impossible to reach AGI & exponential AI growth through increasing the scale of compute. LLMs have already hit their developmental plateau https://www.livemint.com/companies/news/oracle-layoffs-tech-giant-to-slash-30-000-jobs-as-banks-pull-out-from-financing-ai-data-centres-11769996619410.html

@ProPublica why if it isn't the very "means testing industrial complex" itself! https://rgmii.org/blog/initial-frequently-asked-questions/
Initial Frequently Asked Questions

After announcing the RGMII program on February 3rd, we listened closely to all feedback and discussions. We’ve compiled this initial set of Frequently Asked Questions that we hope to improve together. * Do GMI payments cause a benefits cliff? * Why not Universal? * How do you prevent abuse? * Why rural? * What

For me, this is the body horror money quote from that Scientific American article:

"participants who saw the AI autocomplete prompts reported attitudes that were more in line with the AI’s position—including people who didn’t use the AI’s suggested text at all"

So maybe you can't use it "responsibly", or "safely". You can't even ignore it and choose not to use it once you've seen it.

If you can see it, the basilisk has already won.
