I wouldn't normally do this, but... it's #FediHire time!
I'm looking for a part-time remote, hybrid or Midlands-based job ASAP. I am 'retiring' as a journalist after 10 years in the industry and I'm moving on to something new.

My role has recently been been shifted as my team has deprioritised upstream linux kernel development and I am looking for a new role as a result.
Over the past couple of years I have been the top contributor to core memory management by patch count and lines of code changed, and the 2nd-top reviewer.
I also wrote a 1,300 page textbook on the linux kernel memory management subsystem - https://nostarch.com/linux-memory-manager
See https://ljs.io/kernel for a detailed list of what I've done, and https://ljs.io/cv.pdf for my up-to-date CV.
I have been heavily involved in the community, where I established the memory management maintainership model, and have given talks at Linux Plumbers, Kernel Recipes and the key memory management conference LSF/MM/BPF.
I have a proven track record of working very effectively upstream and can really help any company who has needs in this area.
If you are interested or know of any opportunities around linux kernel memory management, please reach out!
Anyone hiring?
My work told me they will not be giving me a job after my apprenticeship (as a Developer) ends in the summer. I am skilled in DevOps and have great joy in organising things (from confluence spaces to events.. I do it all). I have a permit for carrying weaponised autism in problem solving. I do volunteering work in first aid and like basic human rights for all.
Thank you to everyone for boosting!

It seems my employer _may_ be going to start rating us by both how much we use AI and how many merge requests we generate. It may be time to gtfo.
Iโm a senior/principal ruby/rails dev (~20y); before that focused on perl, but I can and will work in just about any language except Java, given a chance to scrape the rust off (or learn, which I do startlingly fast).

@randahl
Considering the remodels he has planned I do not expect this will be at all tasteful, just look at what he plans for the used to be Kennedy Center.
Don't rulers usually make a 'Monument' to some accomplishment? Will this be the Tri-umphal Arch Enemy of the People?

Brian Merchant is hiring a producer for his podcast, "Blood in the Machine." (Same name as his book, which you should read.) #getfedihired #FediHire

Got my first job scam attempt! I applied to a VP/CTO job on LinkedIn & got a response for an interview. 1st (yellow) flag, email was from gmail instead of company domain. 2nd (yellow) flag, company was unlikely to have a tech department to hire for. I gave the benefit of the doubt since it was a small company and maybe they wanted to start a tech department. 3rd (red) flag, interview link was an MS Teams installer on some random (probably hacked) website. Nope.
Need a real #FediHire :)
Hello there! I'm a long-time Django engineer, leaving Torchbox after close to 3 years. I will miss the engineering community of practice there, where I was surrounded by outstanding people, and learned so much. Hoping Mastodon and Python conferences will scratch some of that itch.
I am based in Bucharest ๐ท๐ด, working part-time CTO at GoWoofer.com, available for contract work from mid-May.
