Question for the #DnD Historians:

In the PHB, the Bard class description makes a reference to capitalized Words of Creation.
I don't know of any other place in the PHB where these explicit proper nouns are referenced, although many of the Word spells make vague allusions. Is this anywhere else in #dnd5e content? Or is it merely a throwback to the 3.5E Book of Exalted Deeds?

Working on a #homebrew class tied to Naming and Words of Power - appreciate any help!

Over on my blog, I've been writing up the results of an analysis of RPG statements made at the table. A few years ago I got curious about differences in play style, but rather than in terms of the agendas of the participants, in terms of what kinds of things were being said.

Here's the ebb and flow of about 110 minutes of Critical Role, a style akin to a radio play: tons of in-character dialogue, and next to no discussion of fictional positioning or mechanics.

Blue Ghost fireflies have a delicate blue glow and their lights don’t blink. They hover 1-2 ft from the forest floor giving the impression the forest is full of gently floating fairies. They are only out 2 weeks a year in limited locations in the southeast US and it must be completely dark. No image will ever capture what it’s like to stand in a forest full of fairies. 💜🧚🏻

Our first #WestMarches session was last night. It was awesome.

There was an electric energy as the four new friends left their safe home into the unknown.

There were creative solutions to encounters of the curious and deadly varieties.

Their love of herbology paid off when they blinded a horde of kobolds with spores, giving the bard the chance to blast several foes off of a cliff.
They made a frenemy out of a kobold named Cheese-Ears.
