This is a picture from last year, but it’s a hilarious demonstration of the effectiveness of the carrion flower’s scent. The flower lures in flies, but because I have it behind a screen on the porch, they land just shy of their destination where hungry tree frogs wait to snacc-attacc the flies. https://flipping.rocks/@mycrowgirl/114857707005394057

Edited for drama. This orchid is a more pale, delicate yellow in real life. But these edits bring out the details and the sparkliness of the petals.

15 July 1875 | A German Jew, Rudolf Levy, was born in Stettin (today Szczecin in Poland). A painter, expressionist. He emigrated to France and then to Italy.

In 1944 he was deported to #Auschwitz. He most probably perished during the transport.
