When you worry that you're missing out on something by not making both choices simultaneously by quantum superposition, that's called phomo.

A friend (outside of academia) today referred to capitulating to fascism using the phrase “pulling a Columbia.”

The damage that institution’s leaders did to it…I just can’t even.

@CrimethInc When Solzhenitsyn left Russia, he came here to live in #Vermont. I read Cancer Ward and A Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovitch and Gulag Archipelago because they were on the bookshelf in my house. My mother, a Political Science PhD candidate who had spent time living in Soviet Russia, attended one of the talks he gave here.

Now ICE is using #Vermont as a way station for illegal transportation of legal US residents to... a gulag.

I don't think enough people read Solzhenitsyn.

There were 381 #books that were removed from the US #NavalAcademy #Library last week as promoting #DEI

Quoting from the NBC news article: "Books on the Holocaust, histories of feminism, civil rights and racism, and Maya Angelou’s famous autobiography, “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings,” were among the nearly 400 volumes removed from the U.S. Naval Academy’s library this week."

"In addition to Angelou’s award-winning tome, the list includes “Memorializing the Holocaust,” which deals with Holocaust memorials; “Half American,” about African Americans in World War II; “A Respectable Woman,” about the public roles of African American women in 19th century New York; and “Pursuing Trayvon Martin,” about the 2012 shooting of the Black 17-year-old in Florida that raised questions about racial profiling."

I have neither the brain nor the reading ability, but I feel like this entire list is something I would read if I could.

@EUCommission
Maybe then, arrest #Bibi #Netanyahu?

Or is the #ICC just to be ignored?

Tired: we need to understand why autism happens.

Wired: we need to understand why y'all mistreat autistics.

I buy eBooks regularly, for my own personal enjoyment.

If an eBook has DRM which I can't remove, the likelihood of me buying that eBook is close to zero. Because I can't enjoy it freely across my devices.

DRM-free ebooks from an author's own web shop? Yes, please!

Leaked Data Reveals Massive Israeli Campaign to Remove Pro-Palestine Posts on Facebook and Instagram

A sweeping crackdown on posts on Instagram and Facebook that are critical of Israel—or even vaguely supportive of Palestinians—was directly orchestrated by the government of Israel, according to internal Meta data obtained by Drop Site News.
