An expert on Twitter is saying the current #COVID19 situation is a "wavelet" and calling it a surge is inaccurate. Meanwhile, wastewater and positive rates continue to climb and hospitalizations are rising. I guess we'll just tell all the people suffering their situation is no big deal and ignore the millions who will face acute and potentially chronic illness because this is just a "wavelet." Public health experts and agencies have abandoned public health. That doesn't mean you have to, also.

Study in Infection Control & Hospital Epidemiology: "Despite recent guidance from the CDC allowing institutions to relax in-facility masking strategies and due to our evolving understanding of respiratory pathogen transmission during the #COVID19 pandemic, we propose an updated standard for universal precautions in healthcare settings: permanently including universal masking in routine patient-care interactions."

A long #COVID19 post on LinkedIn, urging people and businesses to stop ignoring risks. COVID is still circulating at High or Substantial levels in half the US, new studies are uncovering greater health dangers than you likely know, and all of us--as leaders, employees, and customers--should be safer. Why? To avoid acute illness, prevent chronic health impairment, honor our organization's #DEI commitment, and prevent economic damage to our businesses and the economy. https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/most-people-businesses-stopped-caring-covid-19-mistake-augie-ray/?published=t
Most People and Businesses Stopped Caring About COVID-19. This Is a Mistake for Many Reasons.

People and businesses have moved on from the #COVID19 pandemic. This is a mistake.

People do not understand how to equate things with “lower” risk into their daily lives. Most are pretending that #COVID19 is so low risk, they act like it's gone. They do this, even though COVID remains a top three cause of death in the US and took 0.08% of Americans' lives last year. If 0.08% of US flights crashed and killed fliers, that would mean 36 plane crashes and 2,300 people dead EVERY SINGLE DAY. If that were the case, almost no one would get on a plane. So, why won't we #WearAMask?
Right back to square one, with almost 75% of the US in the highest transmission category for #COVID19. We are ignoring what prevents surges, how COVID damages the body, or the impact on kids. The hospitalization rate for children is as high now than this time in 2021.
