The two helicopter rides I took in Kauai way back in 1985 — sitting in the copilot seat, no less, for the best views — remain a wonderful memory. So reading about a helicopter crash on the island, which would always be tragic news, makes me a bit extra-sad.

3 killed in tour company helicopter crash on Kauai's Na Pali Coast

A sightseeing company's helicopter has crashed near a remote beach off the coast of the Hawaiian island of Kauai, killing three people and injuring two others. Kauai officials say the crash happened Thursday afternoon at Kalalau Beach on the Na Pali Coast. The Kauai Fire Department says the helicopter carried one pilot and four passengers. Police say three people died at the scene. Officials transported two survivors to Wilcox Medical Center for treatment. Authorities identified the operator as Airborne Aviation. The company said it is cooperating with federal investigators. Helicopter tours are a common way to see the Na Pali Coast’s cliffs, beaches and waterfalls.

CW- end of life

My friend is dying. She has multiple issues and MS that has her paralyzed. She is so angry with the situation: illness, the medical system, one of her kids cutting her off. It's understandable! I can't be there because of health and distance. She has chosen MAID at some point (medically assisted legal death). This does not bother me in any way. I wish I could help her find peace (maybe that's not my job, and I am not a qualified......???). How do you process the injustice of illness and the medical system? I am guessing she's not done yet on some level. I just really wish her some sort of peace or better last days.

Just throwing this out there if anyone has been through this and or has a link for useful stuff.
