Trump is trying to end US democracy. One provision in Trump’s new “Big beautiful bill” says that when Trump breaks the law, courts can no longer enforce the law by making US Marshalls serve him a contempt of court order, UNLESS Trump’s government decides to finance this work first.

In other words: Trump decides if Trump can be held accountable for breaking the law. This will effectively make Trump an untouchable King.

Let’s hope this does not pass the Senate.

@MEActNOW No, he's right. The COVID vaccine, which is what most of these people are upset about, is NOT a weak version of the virus. It is a genetic hack that makes your body mass-produce the dangerous part of the virus.

Other vaccines, which are weakened viruses, have an adjuvant that irritates the immune system to trigger the reaction. Getting too many adjuvants in a short time might be a problem even though each vaccine individually will test out safe.

Kids get a crazy number of shots now.

@MisuseCase @MEActNOW Yes that is the problem. Getting vaccinated against DTP, measles, polio, etc. is a really good idea. They need to figure how to reduce toxic adjuvants (they are metals) if they are going to give such a huge number of shots though.

The human brain is NOT good at risk/reward calculation. It's either "this is good" or "this is scary."

Not all adjuvants are metals. Few, if any, are metals, but some may be compounds of metallic elements.

Ever wonder why you can freely sprinkle sodium (deadly reactive metal) and chlorine (deadly reactive gas) on your dinner and survive? Because NaCl is a compound, not a metal. Totally different!

I've experienced a bad reaction to one specific adjuvant (in one flu vaccine). But I have taken other brands of the flu vaccine many times, with no problems.

It's true that the COVID vaccine that saved a million lives is not a weakened virus. But the rest of mike805's first paragraph is outrageously wrong. mRNA vaccines do NOT make your body mass-produce the dangerous part of the virus. If they did, millions of people (like me) who took the vaccine would be dead now. The vaccine imitates the part of the virus that triggers your immune system, so it seeks and destroys the virus. The vaccine doesn't contain the part that kills you.

@oldclumsy_nowmad There is some evidence of the spike protein itself being toxic. There were also studies showing that the spike can be found in some people months after infection or vaccination, and they can tell the difference between the two types of spikes.

Japan also did a biodistribution study that found the spike accumulating in the ovaries among other places.

The anti vaxxers tried to stop this with a time machine and seeding the "weakened virus" approach hundreds of years earlier, but somehow we still got mRNA vaccines for COVID. It's really hard to avoid a temporal paradox
