mike805@MEActNOW No, he's right. The COVID vaccine, which is what most of these people are upset about, is NOT a weak version of the virus. It is a genetic hack that makes your body mass-produce the dangerous part of the virus.
Other vaccines, which are weakened viruses, have an adjuvant that irritates the immune system to trigger the reaction. Getting too many adjuvants in a short time might be a problem even though each vaccine individually will test out safe.
Kids get a crazy number of shots now.
It's true that the COVID vaccine that saved a million lives is not a weakened virus. But the rest of mike805's first paragraph is outrageously wrong. mRNA vaccines do NOT make your body mass-produce the dangerous part of the virus. If they did, millions of people (like me) who took the vaccine would be dead now. The vaccine imitates the part of the virus that triggers your immune system, so it seeks and destroys the virus. The vaccine doesn't contain the part that kills you.
@oldclumsy_nowmad There is some evidence of the spike protein itself being toxic. There were also studies showing that the spike can be found in some people months after infection or vaccination, and they can tell the difference between the two types of spikes.
Japan also did a biodistribution study that found the spike accumulating in the ovaries among other places.
