Aberdeen researcher working on image analysis, exercise and bone health. Usually found drinking coffee, out in the rain, or both! Views my own.

So I got around to actually writing that article about coming to slow hiking I was planning weeks ago and never got around to.

Trying my hardest to actually do stuff and not doom scroll.

Linked below if you can contain your anger at my inability to self edit, not abuse punctuation, or stay on topic and entirely serious for long enough to finish a paragraph. I'm a very AuDHD kind of writer just like I am here :)

Trying to fill the blog with stuff I wanted to be there.

28/03/2026 - Morning walk in the sunshine. I'm a bit sleepy today. I ended up plodding away for about 7 miles on the quiet back roads. Hardly any humans about which meant my happiness level stayed high.

27/03/2026 - Hello weekend.

Friday evening walk, both sides of the sun going to bed. Just me today as Mrs Spaceways is still away. It's been a long week. Happy weekend everyone, hope everyone has a nice one 😃

26/03/2026 - A few wild flowers I saw on my evening walk after work. Just lovely to see the flowers back this spring. They cheer up the roadsides.

Wood Anemone
Dog's Mercury
Red Dead-nettle
Creeping Comfrey

26/03/2026 - Peri's back on the block.

Nice to see the lesser periwinkles are back in flower by the roadside on my lunchtime walk. Mrs Spaceways is away at the moment. They very much like these. A nice reminder of them 😃

26/03/2026 - Lunchtime walk to get away from work and the computer for a bit. The morning snow was gone and the sunshine was lovely. Treecreepers chasing each other up and round the trees, a magic sight to see. The walk was and will be the best 30 mins of my day.

23/03/2026 - Under the bridge.

I saw a lovely grey heron on the way to the shop at lunchtime. Easy to miss as they stand so still and silent by the burn. I'm always taken with their size. 6ft wingspan. A big bird! Magic to see.

22/03/2026 - Evening walk up Cairn William in Aberdeenshire. A nice way to end the weekend. Bit chilly but a few stars so that was nice. Quiet on the hill. The night is still easy to say hello to at the moment, next week with the clocks going forward it gets a bit tricky. Night was 20:40, next Sunday 22:01.

21/03/2026 - A short morning walk turned into a 5 hr stroll on the back roads. The sunshine felt too good to go back home. Everything looked so nice. Birds singing, butterflies about. Flowers starting to wake up. We watched a couple of brown hares boxing which was pretty magic. A good walk with coffee and cake halfway round.
