He did not stay long, because I brought a wolf to this party.. ๐๐ค๐บ
An evening walk. A lovely sky and just outside the cottage there is a woodland tunnel. We have put 15 bat boxes in the trees around it, and I hope they have contributed to the enormous number of bats, mainly pipistrelles I think, but maybe the odd nocturne, over our heads as we walked. The insects probably help ๐
08/06/2026 - Evening walk after work. A slow pace but it just about kept us ahead of the rain.
A few things we saw along the way.
The reddest sycamore helicopters I've ever seen.
Golden dung fly, I always feel a bit sorry for these a bit odd looking flies. Their middle name ain't great.
A tiny little white flower on an old holly tree.
#Mondog more pics from our forest walk..
Dog for scale. Just absolutely gorgeous lighting.
(This is the River Walk, at the quiet side of the public forest)
05/06/2026 - Evening visit to Bennachie in Aberdeenshire. My photo from near the summit is of a cut socket in the rock. It remains as a reminder to Robert Dawson who passed away here in 1856. I always like to give it a nod when we pass by.
I've added an extract in the alt text from the book 'Bennachie' by Alexander Inkson McConnochie written 1890.
