@Riotgrandma72 If you agree that #NHSCrisis will not be solved by more #NHSPrivatisation leading to an insurance-based system which would render the majority of us #uninsurable pls sign/share my petition and demand a fully tax-payer funded service #SOSNHS #ReviveTheNHs https://chng.it/zBBfzShwXk
Can you spare a minute to help this campaign?

UK Gov! Put an end to NHS privatisation. An insurance-based system is unworkable.

⚠️ We are planning to release important security fixes for #Mastodon on July 6th, between 13:00 and 15:00 UTC. They will be available for the 4.1, 4.0 and 3.5 versions as well as a nightly release, to make the upgrade as small and painless for everyone as possible. Be ready to upgrade!

45,000 years ago, a Neanderthal man experienced a crushing blow to the head that left him partially paralyzed for life, but his bones healed and he lived into his 30s or 40s, something only conceivably possible with the help of his community.

45,000 years ago.

But let’s pretend that 45,000 years later, we “can’t afford” universal healthcare.

If you want to do something to help the planet and yourself one very simple thing you can do is to make your own compost. If you get a compost bin, you literally throw in raw kitchen, waste and clippings from the garden, wait, and a few months later get free compost that’s it. No air miles. No plastics used no hassle no fuss. #ClimateAction #Compost

I had laser eye surgery but disappointingly I’m still unable to fire lasers from my eyes.

0/5 stars, would not recommend.

Are sitting in a #university praying that now the #NorthernIrelandProtocol 'problem' has been resolved, the UK's (re)entry into #Horizon research programme is assured?

Sadly I've got some bad news for you. It seem the EU wants the UK to pay the full contribution agreed in the #Brexit deal, while the UK (blaming the EU for delays in settling the NI issue) only wants to play a pro-rata reduced payment; the UK wants the EU to 'play fair'; the EU wants UK to pay what it agreed;

sound familiar?

Sad news about Paul O'Grady, didn't watch a huge amount of his work, but enjoyed the interviews he gave, for example:

Throughout his career he was famously outspoken about the neglect of care workers, austerity and the Tory party: he made headlines when he said he wanted to see David Cameron and George Osborne’s “heads on spikes on Tower Bridge” over austerity cuts, and revealed that he quit his talkshow because celebrities were so dull they were like “relatives you felt obliged to visit”.

Good morning. 🕊🕊🕊

29 March 2023

In the morning while I'm trying to think of something to write, I sit at my desk with my feet propped on one corner and have my keyboard in my lap. This morning is no different ... wait, I need another cup of coffee. Anyway, where was I ... oh keyboard. This is not the optimum position for typing and I make a lot of mistakes that I have to go back and correct ... and bingo, I thought of a subject.

When I was in high school, there was a class I took called "Office Machines." The class was mostly about typing but there were also adding machines. I don't recall whether the typewriters were manual or electric, but several years later in the Army most typewriters were manual. I didn't do well in the class but looking back through the years. it turns out that it was one of the most useful and productive courses that I took.

And ... I'm out of characters. 😢

I recommend learning to type.
