Hey friends --

Looks like I'll be on Velshi this Saturday morning talking about what the midterms suggest about the state of democracy -- and what insights history has to offer.

While it could have been worse, all told, we're still in big trouble.

Hey #BikeTooter, we've scored a big win in San Francisco: we defeated a ballot measure *by 20 points* that would have opened car-free streets back up to traffic.

"The election demonstrates that a significant majority of San Francisco voters appreciate The City’s car-free streets and want them to stay." #sfpol #bikesf #carfree @mastobikes https://www.sfexaminer.com/news/transit/san-francisco-voters-deliver-mandate-on-car-free-streets/article_7b4b46bc-611d-11ed-9f04-9b08d8e2144e.html

Can someone make this quote a meme so I can retire from social and have a bot post it a lot?

“That’s technically legal for a variety of reasons, but it’s not the right thing to do,” Shaub said.

Interesting read. Asserts that acquisition of #primarycare is the key to consumer engagement which is critical to care navigation service companies. If primary care is in such high demands why is it such a terrible job for providers that no one wants to go into it?

Flight Of The Healthcare Navigators: Why Glen Tullman’s Best Magic Trick Yet May Be Buying Teladoc

For Transcarent CEO Glen Tullman, there is a strong case to buy telehealth behemoth Teladoc – the very company that acquired Tullman's last company, Livongo for $18.5 billion. Tullman could buy back the entirety of Teladoc for less than a quarter of what it bought Livongo for just two years ago

Some people think Mastodon is too weird to become popular:

I joined Twitter in 2008. We had to put a "d" in front of a tweet to convert it to a direct message and every other day you had some embarrassing private moments exposed because someone forgot about the “d”. Hashtags were just a community hack, introduced by Chris Messina to somehow tag content. Search? Hah, you wish! Tweets via SMS were supposed to be a thing. Oh, and the daily meet and greet with the failwhale. Totally not weird.
