In one year, New York City's messaging went from "you do you" to "mask up with an N95."

This didn't happen by chance. Advocates and groups like Covid Advocacy NY organized to take down the MTA signs and attended every NYC council hearing on COVID to push for better messaging. Advocacy works!

Is it an autistic thing to considerate that every possibility are equaly likely to happen ?
My husband told me tonight "when the probabily is 0.1% you consider it as if it wa 50% likely".

C'est un truc d'autiste de considérer toutes les possibilités avec la même probabilité que ça arrive ?
Mon mari m'a dit ce soir "quand la probabilité est de 0,1% tu la considères comme s'il y avait 50% de chances que ça arrive".

Quote from an interview with Dr. Asad Khan, talking about Long Covid:

"We worship exercise, and exercise is good for most people, but when you have a post viral illness, it is the worst thing you can do ... and this is not really well known.

So there are other illnesses for example like M.E. (myalgic encephalomyelitis), Long Covid, and Lyme disease, for example, where if you make people exercise they only get worse."

Tonight I found a stream-of-consciousness journal I wrote in one sitting on December 2022, and I've decided to put it on my blog. It has to do with everything that was bothering me at the time or had been - mostly ableism.

I figure at the very least, some disabled people will relate or find it helpful to share to their family/colleagues etc. for them to understand the effect that unintentional ableism has on disabled bodies and minds.

All My Thoughts on My Existence

I remember when I got my crutches for the first time and they were cyan, one of my favorite colors, with black too, and I remember being so excited to use them and then when I did use them people l…

Does anyone else feel trapped when they have a hoodie on that doesn't have a zipper?

It takes me too long to realize I'm too warm and then I start to freak out until I can wiggle out of it. ><

When someone's kid just likely got fired for being trans and the parent is still convinced there are bad apples "on both sides of the aisle."

Same person who says "I'm trying" while also saying that she simply can't use the word "they" to refer to me because that's plural. -_-;

So...with the new semester on the horizon and COVID lurking, a recommendation for masks.

After trying MANY kinds, the 3M Aura 9205 and 9010 are the best. They don't fog my glasses while teaching. The straps go under my hair and hold the mask tight.

So there you go.

Finally having some family members over this week, and I'm realizing I am going to have to explain to them that "So if you hear a cat that sounds like it's crying out in pain around 5am, don't worry, that's just the deaf cat playing with a toy for an hour."
@AutSciPerson I started cutting my own hair in 2020. While it's not a great cut, my overall feeling has been one of massive relief and Why didn't I do this sooner???
@AutSciPerson same, and it’s surprising how even a good day can be followed by a period of extremely low motivation or energy.
