Finally, it's always the younger generation who creates the #Underground where new, creative ideas blossom. I love to dabble in the subversive, personally. Being rebellious and saying, "F**k y'all then. We'll do our own thing," is empowering and necessitates invention. I'd love to see what comes out of a TikTok vacuum. #Mastodon is evidence of that as a rebellion against #Twitter. And look how much better and more wholesome it is. More independence is, by its nature, mentally freeing.

Third, maintaining #TikTok because young people will be upset smacks of the same argument as those who would ban books or topics because young people might be uncomfortable with the content. #GenZ is resilient. They are also on a variety of platforms, like #SnapChat, #Discord, and #Telegram. If TikTok dies, I believe they can still have a flourishing #online life. It also gives them a chance to make a better, safer #platform more tailored to their video-watching needs.

First, the correction at the top of the opinion is not trivial and should temper the opinion itself. It is not merely correcting a time or typo. It is substantive.

Second, I understand how it feels to lose a site you and your friends like. The 90s and early 2000s were rife with sites that came and went. Young people are the most agile at adapting than their older peers. If #XiJiPing is making people unsafe, that trumps maintaining *one* way to communicate.
