@DrALJONES I watched a documentary about Dutch boys that signed up for the SS. Decades after the war, some were still casually saying on camera that they didn't like Jews much.

It's a certain kind of mind that will excuse itself for any behavior, and fascist armies select for that. I believe there's also quite a few psychological studies backing that up.

We must demand strict ethical discipline and zero tolererance to fascism, otherwise it will rise again and again.

In NL (my native country) we had something close to functioning socialism in the nineties. Then we were lax against fascism prevention. Now the majority of Parliament stated that I'm a terrorist for opposing fascism. The easy prevention failed miserably.

I think the notion that it's easily prevented is a mistake.

Wishing dead on somebody, even if they seem to deserve it, sort of drags you down to their level and frame of mind, which I wouldn't like at all. But lock 'em up and make 'em work hard for a living for say, 50 years for starters, would give 'em time to consider their previous lifes and actions.

I disagree and think that a society that kills its own citizen will turn into exactly the society they are trying to avoid by killing the evil leaders and other deemed unworthy of living. And the persons with the power to decide over life or dead will, almost per definition, be or turn into the fascists that a society should seek to avoid. And having the death penalty doesnt seem to work in China, Iran, USA etc., they still have lots of murder and serious crime.

That's oversimplifying a very complex issue.

The ICJ process could take years to conclude, but the important thing the court did was to require member states to *sanction Israel in order to prevent what is a plausible genocide.*
