@Infrogmation

This is so hilariously on the nose, wow.

@anthracite
Editorial cartoon in real life.
@Infrogmation Photo of the year, if you ask me.
@Infrogmation reality running circles around satire
@Infrogmation Backstory? Just because someone is dressed like something doesn't mean they're acting that way. Take the president, for instance.
@spayeur @Infrogmation they were protesting
@jenzi @Infrogmation I had assumed, but there is a big difference in how. Alex Pretti? He put a hand on an ICE agent to stop him from doing what he was doing. That changes many things, legally. It did NOT justify his murder, but there's a big difference between trying to restrain an officer and merely watching, legally speaking.
@spayeur @Infrogmation I heard she was selling bootleg DVDs of The Fast and the Furious

@davey_cakes @spayeur @Infrogmation

I laughed at the bootleg DVD. Good job, Lady Liberty.

@Infrogmation

ok so *there's* one of those "pictures worth a thousand words".

@Infrogmation

what was the reason of the police?

@Blacky

Good question! The wireservice photos where I found it didn't give reason of arrest. I don't know who the woman is nor what the charges or allegations against her were.
A quick search found this:

KABC Los Angeles -- Tens of thousands of people rallied and marched peacefully through Downtown Los Angeles on Saturday before tensions escalated later in the night, leading to arrests and minor injuries, according to police.

At least 9 arrests made during 'No Kings' protest in DTLA; some officers suffered minor injuries

As of early Sunday, LAPD had confirmed that nine juveniles were arrested and cited for failure to disperse. All were later released to their parents.

@Infrogmation
This article contains another image of her...doesn't give specific reason for her arrest but does say they made arrests for "Failure to Disperse."

Another LA Times story with another photo of Lady Liberty under arrest.

In this AP Photo she's handcuffed and looking into the face of one police officer, and another police officer next to her is holding her flame, loudspeaker, and manacles.

@Infrogmation Well the original statue was already "on the nose": "liberty" for a country built on slavery and genocide.

But cute close second...

@Infrogmation

Cue the signature sound from an old (old!) cop show on tv:
Dumm! De-Dumm! Dumm! Dumb!

How to give your opposition a big boost.

And she's grateful, I think.

@Infrogmation talk about symbolism

- men control what women are allowed to do
- police control what citizens are allowed to do
- the state restricts (individual) liberty

all that in one photo!

@Infrogmation

Optics, baby. That chick's got you and she knows it

@Infrogmation

Looks to me

@c_th1 @Infrogmation It’s not. The photographer has the pictures on her Instagram.

@Infrogmation

Diese Arschlöcher 😡😡😡

@Infrogmation arrested for resisting arrest, presumably?
@Infrogmation I mean, well played madam.
@Infrogmation I'm afraid to make assumptions but is "lady liberty" in that picture expecting? That would make for even better symbolism.

@rozeboosje

Thin ice...... but if she confirmed it, I wouldn't be surprised!

@Infrogmation

@rozeboosje

> when a woman's body isn't washboard flat

iS sHe pReGnAnT?

@codinginquarantine I know the way the question comes across but I think an actual pregnant "Lady Liberty" would make for incredibly powerful symbolism. There's nothing wrong with her tummy, whether she's expecting or not.
@Infrogmation Même les keufs ont pas l'air d'adhérer. Mais à quoi ? A l'idée de la Liberté piétinée, ou à l'envie d'une meuf trop bonne ?

@Infrogmation

Why? Was she telling the truth?

@xs4me2 @Infrogmation Same energy as the "Shoot us the bird if you voted for a pedophile" sign someone photographed. "Thanks for proving my point, assholes!"

@touaregtweet @xs4me2 @Guillemmartnez

Ah. Lady Liberty told the cops on the other side of the fence that they were political pawns and 'nobody is scared of you'. Yep, that's most likely why they arrested her.

#NoKings #LAPD

@Infrogmation @touaregtweet @Guillemmartnez

She did, and she was right...

This is only inches away from a real insurrection by the people... they should remove Trump from the White House in fact. Tarred and feathered and carry him on a beam!

@Infrogmation Well. Freedom can’t freedom around like. Not in the best democracy in the world.
@Infrogmation Liberty in chains. That's america nowadays

@Infrogmation

(thick snark): maybe if she did not want to get arrested, she shouldn't have been dressed so provocatively.

(meant as a THICK bit of sarcasm that any woman who filed charges against a man for rape will understand, from what I hear.)

@Infrogmation Everyone keeps lauding this photo but I just find it infuriating because the cops are laughing seem to think this is all just a lark.
@Infrogmation I'll bet their Moms are right proud of their boys.🙄
