Breaking, Federal agents in Minneapolis have caused another shooting in the city.
Details are still emerging updates to come.
Early reports indicate that a Hispanic teenager was shot in the leg with live ammunition by ICE agents.
There's also possibly a second victim in this ICE shooting.
Governer Tim Walz was giving an emergency address right before news of this latest ICE shooting broke.
In his address Walz urged citizens to document everything ICE does. IF you see ICE in a mask, video tape them. If you see them without a mask, also video tape them. IF you see them standing around, you know the drill video tape.
Walz says they will pursue all ICE operations that break the law.

I'm at a meetup right now, but checking on the OTG live streams I'm seeing massive clouds of teargas being released in residential neighborhoods in the North of Minneapolis.
Something tells me waking up to a cloud of chemical warfare agents is not going to win ICE many supporters.

Ok this is a pitched riot cop battle in the middle of a residential neighborhood.

Looks like cops have abondanded vehicles leading to protesters capturing equipment and paperwork. Some of which indicating who ICE plans to snatch next from the community, strategic guides, hotels and tons of other internal comms.

Alright in the light of morning more details are coming out.
It appears the initial ICE shooting incident occurred as ICE attempted to go door to door last night.
They came to a Spanish speaking household who refused to comply with illegal orders.
Instead the family called their local police for assistance.
Their side of that call was recorded and posted online this morning.

It's still unclear what exactly happened next.
So far it seems at some point ICE fired live ammunition through the home's front door and possibly into the second story of a home injuring two people.
Neighbors say the ICE shooting victim they knew of last night was a pregnant women.
According to community members initial shooting turned into a standoff as the family still refused to open their door for ICE.
After local police showed up ICE was still on the scene.
The combined fact of continued ICE presence, forced evacutations and the fact the woman was not receiving care clearly caused a lot of people to hurl insults at the cops.
Again, I was not OTG nor in MPLS so I'm piecing this together from online sources.
From a few accounts at somepoint ICE left the neighborhood partially on foot. It kinda sounds like the essentially fought their way out are attacked the crowd to create a hole or distraction to retreat.
What I can tell for sure is that after a crowd formed (largely displaced neighbors) and ICE watcher arrived ICE got scared and went rambo.

Average people started showing up to the scene as the news spread through the neighborhood and city.
This entier interview feels like it could have been lifted right out of a 2020 time capsule.
Reporter ZDRoberts interviews a man who says this is his first time ever showing up to a protest.
He describes being at home and seeing this news and realizing he needed to show up for his community.

ICE actually at several times was overwhelmed by the crowd and you can see ICE and local cops retreating from various positions they took up after the shooting.

BORTAC units were scene attempting to do crowd control wearing night vision goggles and caring battle rifles.
As usual, civilians do NOT like cops dressed like an army.
They too were forced to retreat.
Neighbors who were forced out of their homes by ICE report being first told to evacuate.
But once they got in their car with their SIX children ICE turned their guns on the father and shouted confliting ordrs.
Ultimately ICE threw flashbangs and teargas INSIDE of the family's car whom they had just forced to evacuate.

Again, this video feels like a 2020 documentary.
The father explains that teargas was coming into their home which is why they HAD to evacuate.
Things like this, teargassing civilians who were not attending any protest but instead were literally in their home, likely asleep at the time is a 4th amendment violation.

A blog post from folks who were on the ground last night just got posted.
In it they explain how ICE lost control of the scene and ultimately the crowd affected some dearrests as well as liberation of equipment previously used by ICE.
At least two ICE vehicles were decommissioned, a safe full of guns and ammo were liberated.
Most importantly significant paperwork revealing possibly the names of the murderous ICE crew who shot civilians.
As the aftermath of yet another ICE shooting was playing out on the north of Minneapolis, back near the airport at the Whipple Federal Building feds were quick to push back the peaceful crowd of protesters that has been there almost continuously since the shooting death of Renee Good.

Trump loyalist have pointed to the fact that US District court choose not to issue an emergency restraining order this week, making the likelihood of US court intervention before the end of the month a fantasy.

In response to Trump's escalation Minnesota Governor Tim Walz continues to appeal for the public to remain peaceful.
He said the same message in his address last night (which happened before the shooting) and reiterated it again this morning both in writing and by reposting clips from last night's address.
The young man who was shot in the eye by DHS police at point blank range is out of the hospital and gave a brief interview this week.

Early this week I saw community activist begining to raise the alarm about the rising risk of evictions in Minneapolis.

It's happened again!
ICE / CBP has just shot and killed another Minnesotan this morning.
What was his crime? It sounds like he was legal gun owner and random woman being chased by ICE ran in his direction and grabbed ahold of him.
For this they tackled him.
He NEVER drew his weapon!
He did not approach any ICE officer, he didn't appear to wave a gun in his hand or anything like that!
On the ground CBP found he had a gun, took it, then shot him TEN times!

Finally a story out this week about cops protecting a random citizen from an unconstitutional ICE arrest . . .
There's a few... umm interesting details here I couldn't help notice.
Basically the person arrested seems to have been family friends of their local Police Chief in St. Peter. The police chief took it upon himself to contact ICE and directly picked up the kidnapped woman and returned her home personally.
On the one hand, amazing to see the cops finally "standing up" but also I hope you've got friends in high places I guess if you want the constitution enforced.
While I'm more of the ACAB crowd I think @mekkaokereke context both shows how "reformed" this police department is relative to others, but I think that only serves to further underscore the erosion of right's I commented on above.
Where does this put us in the US where the fact is becoming more clear to see... that some people will get a cop who responds and only "observes" ICE or just checks their badge and leaves... all while personal friends of cops get top service.

Unfortunately, most of America does not live under a police force which gets even as high marks as St Peter MN.
Most of the US is policed by law enforcement leaders who still see no issue at all with ICE killing civilians.
In Minneapolis anytime civilians go an inch further than where the politicians currently are willing to go to stop ICE they are immediately threatened and harassed by local cops.
In videos from Minesota locals this week, they showed how they were harassed by local cops for holding ICE block parties.
Communities are holding block parties in key locations allowing them engage in traffic calming which makes ICE agents uncomfortable about getting out quickly after abductions.

It’s been really, •really• interesting watching the behavior of the Mpls Police Dept during the occupation. On the one hand, many of them are obviously on ICE’s side, chumming it up with them etc. On the other hand, the city has a pretty strict separation ordinance (they’re not allowed to help ICE), and beyond that they’re desperate to regain community support after the GF uprising — so they have conspicuously •not• been instigating nearly the same degree of violence we’d expect from them. The handful of times they have backed up ICE directly in a confrontation with neighbors, there was major blowback and the dept backed off hard.
There’s some invisible that they’re toeing but not crossing. Only they know what the line is, and it’s in flux. But it’s there. They know they’re on thin ice with the population (pun intended).
Not so with the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office, i.e. county police, who’ve been just wretched, flagrantly helping ICE and going off the rails with protestors. HCSO is due for a major reckoning if we still have a democracy when this all ends.
