Representative Emmer,

I write to express my dismay and anger at your continued attacks on good public servants of Minnesota, like Governor Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison.

Your attacks are purely political, and are based on grossly exaggerated claims of fraud in the state. No objective journalistic analysis has come close to the $9 billion in fraud that you repeatedly claim. The Star Tribune, which analyzed real data, found on the order of $217 million in fraud.

Furthermore, Minnesota has been aggressively pursuing fraudsters, a fact which you disingenuously ignore.

Furthermore, Republicans have a track record of divestment of public agencies providing basic social services under the myth that the private sector is more efficient. Republicans also have opposed adequate funding for government oversight of public grants to the private sector.

I see through your charade, and I don’t like what I see.

From Walz’s talk: burn as much political capital as quickly as possible to change people’s daily lives. Esp w/young people.
Said a policy change he gets the most positive engagement on is making school lunch free for all kids - many come up to him thanking him, many of whom have leaned R.
He also said whatever we saw of what’s happened in Minnesota with ICE violence and lawlessness is the tip of the iceberg.
