Although our daughter has a job as a store manager, whenever she is at a protest, people often yell "GET A JOB!" at her and the other protesters. (Most days she protests on her lunch hour).

Across the country, we’re coming together to hold Trump and our members of Congress accountable for rising costs, and _we need you with us._
On **Saturday, May 2 at 1:00**, join our volunteer canvass kick-off to take action in Des Moines.
Together, we will organize, talk to our neighbors, and send a clear message to Rep. Nunn: **stop putting billionaires ahead of working families.**
We will meet at _Union Park at 1:00_ by the rocket slide for a brief training on how to have effective conversations at the door.
Then we will pair up and hit the doors! We will be using the miniVAN phone app to track our conversations, so please bring a fully charged phone- or you can let us know if you need a paper list. We'll meet back up and debrief at the end!
**No prior experience canvassing is needed!**

Citizens Bank is a major lender to Geo Group and Core Civic, both of whom run private immigrant detention facilities, like Delany Hall in Newark, Elizabeth Detention in Elizabeth, NJ, and Moshannon in Pennsylvania.
After ICE abducts our friends and neighbors, Delaney Hall, Elizabeth Detention Center, and Moshannon are where most of them are taken. There, they are subject to abuses such as inhumane living conditions, severe medical neglect, abusive treatment from guards, poor food/water quality, and more, all while these corporations make record profits off the suffering of human beings.
This must stop.
Join us in peacefully protesting their complicity every second and fourth Saturday of every month. Bring signs specific to this action so we can spread the word!
