Rapid response guide for supporting hunger strikers in ICE detention (more info in post)

[The folks at La Resistencia](https://laresistencianw.org/), a grassroots organization led by undocumented immigrants and people of color who have been caught up in the system, has been providing solidarity to hunger strikers at NWDC since 2014.

They’ve written [these guides](https://laresistencianw.org/hs-protest-projects/) based on their experience on supporting strikes inside detention centers, which they just updated for 2026.

As the hunger and labor strikes at Adelanto and Delaney Hall roll on, it’s important that we note these ICE captives are not the first to try this courageous and dangerous tactic and they won’t be the last. We saw [hunger strikes earlier this spring at the North Lake ICE Processing Center in Baldwin, Michigan](https://michiganadvance.com/2026/04/22/protestors-gather-outside-baldwin-facility-as-immigrant-detainees-held-by-ice-launch-hunger-strike/).

[The now-deported Rogelio Bolufe](https://www.gtfoice.org/) launched a strike [on his own at the Torrance County Detention Facility in New Mexico](https://sourcenm.com/2026/05/08/nm-ice-detainee-says-he-was-subject-to-sudden-transfer-poor-conditions-amid-10-day-hunger-strike/) and after a retaliatory transfer did so again at the Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma, Washington. Last week, we saw another brief hunger strike at NWDC, in what [local activists estimated was the 17th attempt inside this camp alone](https://www.instagram.com/p/DZyet0qD9by/). As these efforts move forward, we all need to be prepared to do what we can to act in support.

Join thousands of people across the country to send Citizens Bank a clear message: financing private prison and immigration detention facility operators The GEO Group and CoreCivic is bad for business. Please bring signs specific to this action: De-ICE Citizens Bank; Cages Aren't Communities; Citizens Bank - Stop Financing ICE Prisons; Citizens Bank + ICE = Human Rights Abuse; ICE Prisons Don't Strengthen Our Communities; Citizens Bank - Cut Ties With ICE Prisons; etc. Citizens Bank is bankrolling the country’s two largest prison companies that are earning record profits operating dozens of ICE detention facilities. While most major banks have cut ties with CoreCivic and The GEO Group, Citizens Bank is deepening its financial support for these companies, which are already holding more than half of the 70,000 immigrants currently in ICE detention centers across the country. The bank’s capital is supporting a deplorable ICE agenda that aims to fill detention centers with more than 100,000 people by next year. Even as it publicly touts its commitment to “strengthening our communities,” Citizens Bank has played a key role in helping The GEO Group and CoreCivic access more than $2.5 billion in financing, some of it approved earlier this year. This comes as the companies face a mountain of allegations, including forced labor and wrongful deaths due to understaffing and medical neglect at their facilities. We won't quietly stand by as Citizens continues to finance the private prison & ICE detention companies that are harming our communities. The 2019 exodus of banks from the industry in response to activism should be a reminder to us that our voices matter. Now it's time to use them. Visit www.de-icecitizensbank.org for more information and other actions you can take! Remember, we want to be in solidarity with workers including bank branch employees. Treat everyone with respect and do not harass or film employees. A core principle behind all Coalition events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values. We expect hosts to ensure all participants in your event uphold this commitment. We recommend all participants review a safety and security resource before your event, such as https://indivisi.org/safety.

PETITION TO GOVERNOR HEALEY Since September, 2025, ICE has been operating detention flights out of Hanscom Air Field in Bedford, Massachusetts, which is operated by MassPort. The Hanscom Field Advisory Commission (HFAC), a body composed of citizen representatives from the 5 towns that border the air field, has repeatedly asked MassPort to address community concerns about whether the people being loaded onto these flights have received due process and if the standard regulations on health and safety are being followed, but so far, they have not gotten a productive response from MassPort on these questions. On June 2, the HFAC sent a letter to Governor Healey, asking for her assistance. Please add your voice by signing this petition (language below) or writing your own letter to Governor Healey (which can be submitted on a form found on mass.gov.) Dear Governor Healey, This petition is a follow-up to a letter sent June 2 from the Hanscom Field Advisory Committee (HFAC) regarding continued violations of civil rights and lack of transparency in ICE flights through Hanscom field. HFAC has reached out to Massport repeatedly to provide information and take responsibility for these flights, but Massport seems unwilling to take any action. We, the undersigned, urge you to pressure Massport to recognize their role in making sure all operations at Hanscom are safe and follow constitutional law.

No ICE, No Kings Protest on Madison's East Side · Mobilize

Meet us on Madison's East Side to Protest the Trump Administration. This administration has deployed their secret police to our streets to abduct our neighbors and drive fear into the populace. We will not stand for ICE terrorizing our communities and murdering protesters. We demand an end to the terror and justice for all harmed. Trump's assault on Venezuela is an extreme abuse of power that cannot be tolerated. His fuel embargo against Cuba is causing a humanitarian crisis in our backyard. The war against Iran was nothing but costly and wasteful. We say, No! NO ICE! No war for oil! No to colonialism! We demand Peace among nations, peace in our communities, and the restoration of sanity. We will be on the Starkweather Creek Path pedestrian bridge over East Washington Ave. Please park on E Wash Av Frontage Rd at the dead end. It's an easy walk from there to the bridge. This is a non-violent protest. Bring your big signs and flags.
