The United States — lead by President Donald Trump — believes that the Venezuelan president is a corrupt and illegitimate president, who has leveraged government power to protect and promote illegal activity, to enrich himself and his family and concentrate power in his own hands and the hand of his family.

Let me repeat that: A country lead by Donald Trump wants to lock up a president who is corrupt and abuses his power to enrich himself and his own.

@randahl well if Trump has immunity under US law for his multiple crimes, maybe it falls to neigbouring nations to capture him and place him in front of one of their own courts? Nuremberg might be a good place. Or the Hague.

Now the USA has established the principle of making a president legally responsible for his actions to others beyond the country it should be easily applied to Trump.

None of that makes any sense as points of prosecution in a US court for a non-US president.
For prosecuting Trump himself, they all make sense in a US court.
For prosecuting Maduro they only make sense in a Venezuelan court.
