Trump has now set a deadline for Thursday next week, where he demands Ukraine signs an agreement to meet Putin’s demands:

— No NATO membership
— A reduction of its military to just 600,000 troops
— Accepting the loss of Donetsk, Luhansk, Crimea, and most of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia
— Forcing Ukrainian elections within 100 days

While Russia will
— Reenter the G8
— Have all sanctions lifted

This is not a peace agreement. This is capitulation.

@randahl it's the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact, but not in secret
@randahl And all because the fucking pedophile wants people to stop talking about Epstein.
@jorgecandeias No, it's because the pedophile's owner wants him to quickly do what he was hired to do, before he is deposed. @randahl

@androcat @randahl That too.

(although I don't see him getting deposed any time soon. Just losing a measure of power.)

@jorgecandeias @randahl common stop treating everything as an epstein diatraction. The epatein files are importants but there ia ton of other issues we should treat

@hiphopheaven @randahl You aren't wrong, while being wrong.

There are plenty of things objectively way more important than Epstein. Not for Trump, though. Trump only cares about one thing: himself. And there's nothing more important to him than the stuff that affects him directly. That's what makes him tick, and it's what prompts him to act.

I wouldn't even be surprised if at least part of the reason Putin owns him is having a thick file on his sordid behaviour hanging over his head.

@jorgecandeias @randahl It's all about imperialism and economical benefits like usual from the USA

$100 billion in frozen Russian assets to be used in US-led Ukraine reconstruction, with the 𝐔𝐒 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝟓𝟎% 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐢𝐭𝐬

𝐋𝐨𝐧𝐠-𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦 𝐔𝐒 𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐑𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐔𝐤𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞 in sectors like energy, AI, infrastructure, and rare earth metal extraction.

@hiphopheaven @randahl There's nothing "like usual" in the current American regime. No amount of whitewashing can make Trump anything "like usual". Zero. Zilch.

The current American regime's imperialism is way more similar to Nazi Germany's than to anything the US did before.

To underline the point, here are two guys, both sunk neck deep in the usual version of American imperialism, talking about this latest stunt. The difference is quite striking. https://youtu.be/8OA1Htl2aIQ

Trump Misjudged Zelensky Completely (w/ Mark Hertling)

YouTube
@jorgecandeias @randahl yeah sure abu gharib torture was nothing similar how nazi tortured jews. There was no Trump when the USA illegally invaded vietnam commited ton of crimes. There was no Trump when the USA invaded Iraq and Afghanistan and despite pretending to oppose it we did assist the USA in those wars of agggression. All over american history , the empire destroyed ton of countries and did dozens of Coups. The only real difference under trump is how trump treat americans and imigrants

@hiphopheaven @randahl That's like saying there's no real difference between Nazi Germany and the British Empire, as they both commited crimes.

Keep whitewashing the far right, pal. I'm gone.

@jorgecandeias @randahl i never whitewashed anybody including trump. But you did whitewash other countries bad doing and other president war crimes just because Trump is worse
@jorgecandeias @randahl there is no whitewashing of Trump he ia a war criminals and an authoritarian like all other preseidents

@randahl Profanity is warranted here.

Fuck off Trump.

(I mean, that applies every day, but here, applies specifically).

@randahl Trump the dog doing his master’s bidding. Whatever Putin has on him must be juicy. (Also, he tried to argue for letting Russia back into the G8 in his first round cosplaying as president.)
@toriver @randahl oh, beyond juicy. Dipshitticus Rex is such an utter moron, so easily lead around hy the nose... you know the FSB has just DAYS worth of kompromat on that miserable fuckpig. He can barely hold a press conference without incriminating himself, so imagine the things he says and does when he thinks no one is listening?

@toriver @randahl

Putin has, at the very least, the evidence that Russia got Trump elected in 2016.
And whatever Trump let hang out when recreating in Russia. Just how inhibited was he.
#MarcyWheeler

@randahl funny, I must have missed when Trump became a Russian
@idahobucks @randahl 2025 is a year of Trump revelations:
- russian sympathizer
- pedophile
- probably bi
- useless at negotiating peace deals

@idahobucks @randahl

I read somewhere he was short of the readies, a way back. Mysteriously after he visited #moscow he then had plenty of dosh. One of those frigging hotels….

So they have owned him for a while?

Trump: Moscow’s Man in the White House?: Dispatches | Channel 4

“The greatest intelligence operation in history” Dispatches investigates in explosive detail the reality of the decades long relationship between US president Donald Trump, Moscow and Russian president Vladimir Putin, the continuing allegations that President Trump is a witting or unwitting asset for the Kremlin, the inside story of President Trump’s continuing fall out with his own intelligence agencies, the axing of US federal programs and officials perceived as hostile to Russia and the continuing consequences for the war in Ukraine.

@idahobucks @randahl
Quite literally has always been, since the early days of his real-estate when he was in bed with the Russian mob.

What we see in the Epstein emails is that Trump was basically there as a waystation in an international money laundering scheme. Not the head honcho, but played a big part in helping the wealthy hide money with his real-estate business.

@randahl
The Art of the Deal. Just terrible, just terrible.
@randahl I hope Zelensky will wave at trump with 2 middle fingers, with all of Europe behind him.
@Steve Moore :toad: I'm glad he hasn't done that, that would drive Orange straight into Putin's arms.

Well, straighter...
@ArrowbearMoore @randahl It is hard, though. If zelenzky doesn't sign, Putin will claim again being the victim and an excuse to obliterate of any living thin in whole Europe
@epistomai @ArrowbearMoore @randahl
You think he won't anyway? This idiotic treaty just gives ruZZia time to rebuild their arsenal with stolen resources and Ukrainian slave labor.
@Jake_Shelton @ArrowbearMoore @randahl Of course, gives also time to Europe to prepare

@randahl

Hasn't this stupid non-starter already been rejected by both Ukraine and the EU?

Europe to Trump: Your Ukraine peace plan is no plan at all

U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff’s ceasefire blueprint is a blow to dismayed Europeans who thought Trump finally understood that you can’t trust Putin.

POLITICO
@mastodonmigration @randahl Trump and Putin are gangsters. They will make the same demands over and over, as they hurt you more and more, until you accept your beat-down and bow to them. Trump made a career out of using America's shitty legal system to financially punish anyone he wanted something from that they wouldn't give until they couldn't afford to fight him. They will not stop. They must be stopped by others with a shred of integrity and morality, rare in this world in 2025. Exceedingly rare in the United States Senate.
@randahl The post is factually sound (matches the FT/AFP leak, verified by 10+ outlets), but "capitulation" is interpretive – Zelenskyy called it "absurd" but open to "dignified" terms (TIME, November 21). The plan, drafted by Trump's envoy Steve Witkoff with Rubio/Kushner input, resembles Putin's demands (no NATO, territory ceded), but includes U.S. guarantees (aid if Russia reinvades). Negotiations ongoing; Ukraine rejects cessions but seeks talks (Zelenskyy, November 21).
@thebeaconpress @randahl there is no such guarantee with the United States anymore, but even with it, aid is not preventative, but reactionary. Like, “Oh, the bully hit you and broke your arm? Just leave them be and if they hurt you again I'll come help.” What? Don't know why I'm even bothering with this, Trump and Putin are a disgrace, they know very well what they're doing.
@Brian @randahl Non-partisan thought: The question becomes, "Is the U.S. prepared to go to all out war with Russia and its allies?" Another may be, "Is Ukraine competent in its role in the war, and at what point does a super power stop negotiating the larger world stage possible outcomes and let Ukraine fall to Russia?" These are not simple paths with simple outcomes. The complexities and gravity of outcomes are more real, present, and potentially fatal than a vocal majority tend to acknowledge.

@thebeaconpress @randahl

Doesn't really seem like US promises for aid of _any_ kind are really bankable, does it?

@401matthall @randahl Over the past 20 years, ~2.3 Trillion USD in aid disbursed in realized funds to many countries in several categories, including Humanitarian Aid, Economic Development, Security and Military, Health and Education, Governance and Democracy, and Multilateral Administration. The supposition in your comment is not grounded in reality.

@thebeaconpress @randahl

I appreciate your response and recognize that there are contexts in which my statement doesn't apply...

I don't feel like it was a huge leap to connect my statement with the context of Ukraine and military aid guarantees.

It's an emotional statement not intended to withstand the test of scientific rigor and I don't _really_ think that was lost on you. If so, deepest apologies.

@401matthall @randahl Slights disguised, though recognized. The Ukraine/Russia issue is bigger than one country stepping in when the fight gets tough. The U.S. has given aid, and that aid has been used to prolong a conflict that is not yielding to the desires of the West. This is the way of wars. Escalation increases loss. Seeking for resolution hopefully decreases loss. As with all conflicts that end "well," compromise is a must.
@thebeaconpress @401matthall @randahl Oh really? So how much did we compromise with Nazi-Germany or Japan?
@thebeaconpress never measure contributions from large countries in absolute numbers. Measure per capita, and you will see who is really pulling the cart of freedom.
@401matthall
@randahl @401matthall "Always" and "never" are dangerous words. They are the fastest way to destroy credibility, invite rebuttal, and hand ammunition to critics.
@401matthall @thebeaconpress @randahl What do you mean? Europeans pay for weapons from the US anyway.
@leobm @401matthall @randahl What do you mean? US pays foreign tariffs. (Example of a non-sequitur.) Also, US sent 75 billion USD to Ukraine for the war against Russia.
@thebeaconpress @401matthall @randahl The $75 billion in aid to Ukraine was paid out primarily under President Joe Biden, not Donald Trump.
@leobm @401matthall @randahl Does that negate the donation?
@thebeaconpress @401matthall @randahl Biden did not betray Ukraine and Europe. Trump is a traitor, and the US can no longer be trusted.
@randahl Between capitulation or death, I reckon the choice is clear.
@cacilhas @randahl
Since capitulation to Russia is torture, then (if they're lucky, soon) death, for many, I'm not so sure about that.
@randahl Ukraine is suffering for it, but on some level it is sad to see a man who lost control of his faculties be yanked about like a puppy on a chain. Trump has a despicable character, but right now he is being taken advantage of and played for a fool. I really feel that he should be removed from power and put in a home to be cared for until his final days. Yes, I have compassion, even if Trump doesn’t.
@randahl Drump can fuck all the way off back to hell
@randahl I guess Putin threatened to release the unredacted version of the Epstein files
@randahl
And what is the "...or else"-part here? There is nothing that the orange shitshow could take away. He can just demand and yell like a small dog. But he doesn't play at the big boys table. Why do I even write this comment? Stfu Trump, go get your diapers changed.

@momo Trump can prevent democratic countries from buying US made weapons to Ukraine.

This may be a problem, as we do not have enough production capacity in the democracies to produce all the types of weapons needed ourselves (and enough of them).

Most pressing is the need for air defence systems. Ukraine uses US made Patriot air defence systems, and if Trump prevents delivery of missiles on
Thursday, more Ukrainians will die this winter.

I hate it, but this is how it is.
