Can we reclaim the America that is slipping away? A democracy with a soul, reflecting decency, humanity, and competence. A country that again deserves the respect of the world. On March 28th over eight million Americans said they are willing to try.

Hugely important discussion with climate expert Tessa Khan.

Extremely concerning to hear the Labour Government potentially backing off from their climate commitments.

They'd be selling us all out for profit.

@RichRARobi Have you seen the film The Experiment ? I saw it many years ago. It is based on the Stanford Prison Experiment which shows that victims can become the bullying and bloodthirsty oppressors they were facing earlier.

If you think you’re frustrated with the Israeli government for their appalling and inexcusable lack of humanity of late, just imagine how many Native Americans and Black people have felt about the American government—for centuries.

Opinion.

Why Lebanon should join the International Criminal Court

ICC jurisdiction in Lebanon would mean a chance of accountability for Israeli war crimes and renewed political pressure.

“We are going to do what we did in Gaza.”

That’s how a senior Israeli official described the Israeli ground invasion of Lebanon. The threat is real. Similar tactics to those used in Gaza are playing out in Lebanon: evacuation orders followed shortly thereafter by the wholesale destruction of entire apartment blocks, dozens of medics and first responders killed, Israeli soldiers looting the homes of civilians, infrastructure – including bridges connecting the south to the rest of the country – decimated. After a month, more than 1,200 people have been killed, including more than 120 children. One million have been displaced.

How much more proof do people need that the #Israelis are genocidal monsters?

#Israel demanded that all people in #Lebanon leave territory within 25 miles from the Israeli border, bombing millions of people to emphasize their point.

But behind the scenes, Israeli officials have conveyed a more targeted message.

In private calls to local leaders across southern Lebanon, Israeli military officials have assured several #Christian and #Druze communities that they could remain in the evacuation zone. They have pressed them, however, to force out any Lebanese from neighboring #Shiite #Muslim communities who have sought refuge among them as Israeli bombardments flatten Shiite towns. The Shiites make up the majority of southern Lebanon.

Israel has no right to be in Lebanon at all. I remind you of 1982’s #Sabra and #Shatila massacres. Yes, an Israeli company did name their hummus in honor of 3500 dead Lebanese.

They are monsters.

RT: @snowleopardess It is not only horrifying. The Labour government's continued support of Israel is totally incomprehensible to any decent person with a moral compass.

“To see the Labour Government defend Israel repeatedly will horrify the British public – it cannot go on like this.”

UN experts say Israel ’emboldened by impunity’ for previous journalist killings in Lebanon, Gaza and the West Bank.

Three United Nations experts have called for an independent and thorough investigation into Israel’s recent killing of three journalists in Lebanon, denouncing the deadly incident as “another egregious attack on press freedom by Israeli forces”.
UN special rapporteurs Irene Khan, Morris Tidball-Binz and Ben Saul on Thursday noted that “journalists carrying out their professional duties in armed conflict are civilians and must not be targeted or made the object of attack”.

“The deliberate killing of journalists not directly participating in hostilities constitutes a serious violation of international human rights and humanitarian law and a war crime,” they said in a statement.

In February, the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) reported that Israel was responsible for two-thirds of all killings of journalists in 2024 and 2025.

More than 60 percent of the 86 members of the press killed by Israeli fire last year were Palestinian journalists reporting from the Gaza Strip amid Israel’s genocidal war in the coastal enclave, the advocacy group found.
