I think Apple had one very profitable vision with the Liquid Design remake - Creating a design that maximises strain on the hardware.

Reflections, refractions, fluent animations. All these things are probably incompatible with many older devices - which means 💰 for Apple… All with plausible deniability as nobody can blame them for draining design choices 💩
