535. What strengths do you have in your writing?

Can't say, lately I rarely receive any Feedback at all or specific.
Most people want to read what I'm doin but the comments are rarely anything that comments on my story telling or character development. And if they comment it's most times from a cis white monogamous persons that ALWAYS come up with why is it a lesbian romance? It isn't! It's poly but focused on two female identifieng persons.
The AI doesn't make sense AI's don't feel or focus on a relationship between two persons, everything else is cheating... 🤦🏽

Even my DND rounds started to loose giving feedbacks and I strongly dislike that however questioning and getting answers like "oh I would say if I don't like it" aren't very helpful so I stopped asking them for feedback, my guess is dedication to make an extra effort for worldbuilding and trying to give characters depth, I will see how this works out but I know who isn't beta reading...

Different if needed or planed for.
It depends on the Story and what it dies to the SC's in question for Star Ryde my plan is that the crew SCs as much as the MC's grew different. Some closer some more apart and as with my general MCs , SCs, ACs & even BCs their lives have moved on & for some it will have become better, for some worse and I hope that I bring that convincingly into my story. Overall the rule is nobody is save from time, time changes things. And I'm not the nicest person if it comes to sending characters to hell and back, sometimes they are lucky and I only send them hell in German... 😈

540. Holiday Edition: Who would your MC kiss under the mistletoe?

No Misteltoe's survived into the 24. Century. That said kissing is a mostly Terran habit of strengthening individual immune systems, thus is recommended to kiss A LOT.
Do to the fact that a plenty of, for us, new species could be hazardous to others and us, and kissing for Terran's and Terra living Xeni is something special,* a special filtration mask was invented, it's basically a sort of mouth condom.
It needs to be fit for every species specially but allows incredible kisses without any risk or benefit like immunity boosting.

*Some age old first stories of Terrans was how they defended their foes via eating their mouthes and stealing their souls.
It was later translated into Terran Standard as Kiss me a spacer which sounds way more pleasant if miss leading...

542. Is the reader supposed to root for the MC, have no feelings towards them, or want them to meet their demise by the end of your WIP? MCs aren't always the "good guys," of course.

As much as I want them to be liked I am not in control of this.
I have a certain ideal picture of them that is not that of a perfect person, but if I a) can portray it as it is in my mind is one thing and b) how people perceive her is another.
I try my best to show them not as Mary Sue or Gary Stu* and keep them consistent enough that (other than in cases that they aren't if their limit is reached) people know at least in general what to expect.

How exactly this will end up in the view of the reading Person is different for almost everyone.

*Is there a gender neutral or enby trope Name? 'Ary Suu?😅

544. Decide on a favorite character of yours and tell us this: What is something that makes them stand out among your other characters, and why do you love them so much?

Mondira Ramann, a) she only exists in her current form, as she is, thanks to the prompts here. b) I have her set up to be from a Cyberpunk Dystopia Rim World, that is pretty close to ours. She understands the values of working in Union with the Union & believes that it is the key for the Rimworlds to survive this war even if the mercenary forces do quite well against the Eltaryn. She only joined the Unions Alliance because of this & despite of her proud Rim Mother. The trust in the Union isn't there but she believes in the Alliance & uses her position to support her family.

She brings a diverse POV & for me makes it easy to relate to her, since she pretty much comes from today, a time traveler in a way without being one.

Next to Mondira I really like how Arkham forms in my head.

As her romantic growth mirrors my own very much, even if I ended up on another pov and could even be seen as a self insert to a point.

I don't want her to bee seen as an confused asexual/aromantic finally getting "normal" but a representation of my own journey to understand where I started and where I'm currently now. I had a rough time awakening to my own needs becausey only pictures of relationships and live what's pretty much one sided hetero normative and even after I realized that I was part of the queer community shaped by monogamous one sided portraits of people like me. I can't wait to get her story written fully and even if i cut it out, from my point of viewi really like her, I'm not as good as pilot or a dancer as she might be, maybe not as impulsive as she might be, not as young anymore. But she feels especially close to my heart.

Kira: "I dislike them, humans are an outdated species concept for a monkey tribe that almost roasted its home planet.

Terran is a more intelligent approach. You are Terran by birth because your family once originated there or you're Terran because you now live there, all native species from Terra like cats, birds, bacteria, fungi, all are Terrans, and so is Somwhar Ovate R'Einbo, the Somwhar musician that lives on Terra, so is his House cat, so is the Asza'ni Ambassador.

If you look for Humans go to one of the Rim "colonies" that where founded by the first extra solar explorers. They took a lot of "Humanity" with them & are still as destructive as the people they wanted to leave behind. Bitter sweet irony that we got rid of this behavior while they kept it..."

Kira: Loving, carrying, cuddling type, she is the one that carries you to your canine/hyper pod/container or if necessary her own bed and makes sure you're sleeping well, warm and secure, however as long your are not in a relationship with her she would present You her back if you sleep in her bed.

Arkham. Quick drunk a bit hot headed but well meaning and eager to explain to you what she likes about you. Depending on the level of alcohol intoxicating she can be a bit sassy and overly sexual explicit and flirty but she still accepts a no, because for her its more like testing how far she is allowed to go and how far she can go without feeling bad herself and well that ends mostly with words or a snuggle rarely a kiss in the cheek if she really likes you.

546. How stable is your SC’s physical health?

The whole crew consists of trained middle-aged to young adult soldiers on a military space ship so they are well trained and have an overall good health. Some minor vitamin D doses have to be supplemented, some old wounds/scars but overall nothing dramatic. That said even a paralyzed soldier can still act on duty thanks to stuff like exoskeletons (exskels) and NIN (Neural Interface Network) uplink. Some prefer regenerative surgeries and treatment with stem cells which are won from menstrual blood cells and are back developed. For some even personal floaters exist that take a vide variety from hovering chairs to backpacks or for "creative" souls with missing body parts stuff like hover legs or arms. Which are a bit complicated to use and mostly serve personal expressions preferences. Usually people just get "cloned" limbs but robotic prosthetics also exists.

1 & 2 in no particular order.
Star Trek and Mass Effect but with a goal of a broader feminine, queer, lgbtqia+ palette, I didn't liked ST 2009 in the beginning (the Kelvin Timeline only started to come together with its 3. And sadly last movie Beyond), and thought I can' do it better....🙈

548 — How did you come up with the title for your WIP?

In an arcane alchemist lab.🤪
Now really I had many ideas Star Ryde stuck the best with me because I want a Star Trek Style story association. Stuff like Star Wars, Stargate make easily clear what they are. Mass Effect, the Orville or the Expanse don't.
One first incarnation of the title was Galaxy RYDE (which I now use, in a way, for my SciFi Parody universe Galaxy Glyde) but it didn't rang well enough to me. The actual explanation is far more complicated and if I put it here only under a "CW lenghty explanation" warning in a thread.😅

Fun fact several future Ideas thanks to the shitty Autocorrect have been spawned next to Star Ryde, that I my use in the future like Star Ryder Aron Shamus is bounty hunter in the Star Ryde universe, Star Rude a ride on a very different captains freighter, Star Tyde the Star Ryde parallel Universe where they work on a big Space Cruiser/Hotel.

549. Did your SC ever feel as though their innocence had been lost? If so, what moment in their life could be described as the end of that innocence?

I take this to most of my crew since I consider every one of the cast secondary if not main characters.

So we often speak from loosing our innocence, the thing is there is rarely an single event doing this to us. That's something everyone stationed onboard an alliance ship learns early. Loosing your innocence is a corruption over time or an infestation of bacteria, mold on a person. Its gradient always there from the first moment something unpleasant happens to us. That's the first time our brains learn but we not necessarily understand the lesson right, because it's not a lesson reached by someone, we don't have any ramifications to interpret it as neutral.
So we die piece by piece from the idealistic sunshine we where. Some only go so far others get corrupted entirely. It ...

2/2 is sometimes a simple logic reaction if we take into account that emotions follow a kind of own logic.
Of course we can fight against this corruption, this infestation, creeping mold.

But we need to understand it's reactions first, sarcasm & cynicism are one of this, when the individual suffered enough to feel hate and anger but is still relatively decent towards others.
To prevent sarcasm & cynicism taking deep root the best way ist be truly compassionate towards others.
Care for the ones that surround you.
Onboard a space ship you can not go away far distances so check on your comrades, if they become sarcastic ask them what challenge they face. Get to know them better & especially if they tell you something, listen.
We all go through this the moment we had the 1. encounter of an hostile being. The 1. moment our worldviews are shaken.
The 1. time we defend.
The 1. time we have to act against someone.
The 1. time we kill...

They all know the sense of security is not equal to security and indeed security that will protect you will most likely make you feel insecure, because of if the constant dangers you are reminded at... Not to mention if it puts real dangers ahead to "keep other dangers away"

The Ghoz'Tarc itself is only a save bubble as long it isn't under attack... Does it make you more likely a target in a combat scenario? Absolutely...

Kira:"To be able to read persons better, I manage but swex did I had bad decisions .... If it needs to be ridiculous what about regenerative abilities drowning back a limp in an instant or being bulletproof I heard that this old ash "superheroes" of old where bulletproof, not sure what a bullet is but that's one reason more to be proof of it, right?"

Arkham:"Being able to stand any touch without medication... Or smell less than I do... Let me phrase it like this conscious control over my Hypersensible nervsystem."

Ashlei:"A humanoid physical appearance closer to my crew would make some things easier. Only way for me to manipulate things inside my hull is asking nicely or send a maintenance drone but they are tiny and I my ment for repairs."

552. How strong is your SC’s sense of ambition? What is something that they strive for in life?

Well the most of them strive for a peaceful life that's why they joint the military. As random & contradictory as it sounds in a universe that is constantly threatened by an Alien Aggressor the motivation to become a Union Soldier is to keep people save. The Alliance is an offshoot of this military, it has become more pro active in engaging Enemies where they encounter them & became an own branch in the century since the first attacks but the goal is the same for the most, keeping the Union a safe space for everyone that doesn't shoot on sight & establish some sort of communication (the Union tried over 150 ways to communicate with the Eltaryn).

Dr. Waberi & Dr. Kaiden joined to help the soldiers and the victims at the front.

Mondira joined to give an example for the other Rim people that it is possible to work with the Union.

2/2 William Troika joined to keep his family save because he wants to see his daughters grow & thrive. As 2.XO he has some motivation to lead born from the feeling that someone has to lead & that someone should be a level headed person. If not Alliance he would probably have Ende Up in politics.

L.Jenkins: As the second in command after Kira, Jenkins always was a man of Action, he is not so much by the book but by the means. He wants to be the captain one day but his ambition is hold back by his sense of duty. After this Mission who knows.

Chief Engineer Charlston Tuck aka Tucker (a combination from his last Name Tuck and the German Tacker which means stapler) was the leading head behind the Ghoz'Tarcs redesign so he is in to keep his project running and successful.

I will not go into detail for all the last ~30 crew members no worries.😅

Arkham held a folded flower in her hand, it was made out of paper, according to Kira it was used centuries ago, to send information between people, they printed information with color on it or wrote with color on it.
Kira said that they cut down whole forests to still the demand of the society. She started using a wooden pencil shortly after Anika went m.i.a.
Arkham wasn't sure how the wooden stick could transfer color to the paper.

556. If it ever came down to it, who would your MC be willing to die for?

Kira had multiple near death encounters already & survived one death, that cursed moment as Anika went m.i.a./died. Her heart stopped shortly after being blasted into the Shuttles armored interior cabinet, with that high energy blast that fried her NIN port & damaged a part of her brain. They managed to revive her on the flight back to the Ghoz'Tarc where her NIN Snail replacement took place.
So Anika is out of the question, since Kira beliefs in the Union & the Alliance, defends their values & citizens. She would die for them on the battlefield if necessary but the goal is to stay alive.

Arkham doesn't like this martyr komplex thinking. She is focused on survival & to do the things she deems necessary.

Ashlei would do anything to keep her crew alive, dying for them, however is not an option, if the ship dies the crew is

2/2 in danger of being injured or to die too, thua weather her program nor her body (the Ghoz'Tarc) are sacrifices to make. Her program in theory isn't needed if the sub core survives but the sub core efficiency rate is significantly lower than Ashlei's, it is more like a Bios. It has an low level of Artificial Intelligence, but the crew would need to adjust everything by direct order. The sub core just would provide the ability to do so. While Ash balances all the systems with high accuracy.

I don't it's hyper focused or nothing at all, my figuratively spoken drawer, has at least a backdoor to Narnia, or Michael Endes Phantasien, Wonderland, or in the library of the Unseen University of Terry Pratchett's Discworld, where a giant pile of unfinished Projects lies in the dirt until I manage it somehow to finish one...

Kira Knox:"Depends on the task at hand. Rescue extraction? The threat changes. Threat elimination? Few things can if I don't get wounded.
Cooking? I try my best to stay focused. Paperwork? Everything else could still it's necessary and needs to be done.
Having a moment with one of my significant others? Work emergency.

As a soldier deployed on deep range mission the safety of the ship and my fellow soldiers, my crew, my friends comes first but if our mission is to safe people I often have to make decisions on the fly and wing it (expression for improvising something with the available information - a wing just does what it's ment for it doesn't think to much on its own and reacts in combination to other parts) as good as possible.

Arkham and Ashlei both have the potential to distract me a bit more. But overall I don't think there is ONE way."

Oboe... Military SciFi mixed with lesbian relationship but queer as fork (hopefully), strokes of Dystopia/ Utopia if possible with human depiction like Terry Pratchett & a hint of Eldritch Horror.
It will be great, meh or a complete clusterfork.

I don't read as much as I wish this days but enjoy listening to audiobooks, a lot of small reddit stories get narrated on you tube (I try to only listen to human voices & no AI crap).

I like the subgenre of HumanityFuckYeah for it's different approach to SciFi tropes, I love Cyberpunk for its tales of humanity, Utopian tales for ideals that we should strife for. Military SciFi for the fight we need to keep our societal achievements protected. Dystopian as a warning for what not to strife for. Space Opera for the character driveness.

I want to live in the future but not in the one of 1984.

562. Do you have a writing routine?

Not at all but that's a recurring theme in my live and trust me you wouldn't have me routined...

I could make up a mystical writing ritual like taking Alphabet Noodles counting every letter in it and than take the fitting amount of letters for a general German or English text, cook it, drain the water and slap the finished noodles onto a plate calling it a text, but than I would only be a LNSM a large noodle slap machine.

563. Silly question: Who would your SC want to take goofy photographs with? If cameras exist in your universe, of course.

Camera or Picta (Picture Taking) is a standard function of each Holo. You tab the "Hologram"* interface for Picta after which you form two L shapes with your hands and frame what ever you want as a picture. Or link it to a visor and say pict. The Holo extrapolates what you can see and takes all data in that area before it generates a 3D Video/Picture/audio file for as long as you have the "frame" up or say depicted.

Mondira has this really annoying tendencies to make photos on every occasion.

She would love to have some more relaxed Fotos with Kira and Arkham that said her hero crush on Kira is bordering into a real crush... which is an topic for a later time but Kira isn't very happy about that or Foto jump scares.

*It's more like a femtosecond super heated plasma that provides resistance

General opinion in the Union.
It should be for love only but yet there are still enough political, financial motivated, alien princess stories happening in the galaxy.

But also in the union there are no big differences between married and unmarried people and relationships with more than one partner exist at the same general acceptance level.

Yes they would but most like to in universe music and sorry atm im working on developing my drawing skills I'm not going into digital music creation RN I'm barely writing.🙈😅

Take a metal song of your choice give it more of an dirty Rock E Guitar, mix in elements from Funkstar Deluxe Bob Marley Covers, Wintergaatan's Marble Machine, Daft Punk and Dax Ryder's, give it a little flavor with Diablo Swing Orchestra and or the Diva Dance from the fifth element.

-- Video games, im good at breaking engines, finding solutions for weird bugs or player needs like getting the Umbra X2 Mod Weapon in Cyberpunk or 'rescuing' tiny tires in Fallout 4.
