Hast du schonmal eine männliche nicht-queere Figur gelesen/geschrieben, die kritische Männlichkeit lebt.

Gelesen, gesehen in Serien und ich versuche nicht toxische Männer zu schreiben trotz meiner in Nummer 15 erwähnten Abneigung und meinem Sexismus gegenüber Männern. Als Beispiele möchte ich die hauptsächlich hier auf Mastodon für mein WIP Star Ryde entwickelten Figuren William Troika und L. Jenkins nennen wobei Jenkins relativ toxisch in dem Umfeld der Ghoz'Tarc Crew wirkt. Eigentlich ist er es aber gar nicht. Er folgt nur einer anderen Auffassung von Führungsstil und ist eher ein "by the books" character der von Anika speziell wegen dieser Eigenschaft ausgewählt wurde.

"I didn't say it's skimpy, but I'm curious, I know some people that would love to know that secret." Kira looked so innocent in this moment and Jenkins couldn't feel anything but genuine interest in his secret.
He hesitated a second before he decided that it was genuine interest.

"Well it has to do with the tail. It helps tucking away... Spacial anomalies."

Kiras view went inwards as she focused her inner eye. Her eyes widened in a genui appreciating and impressed way.
"Oh oh... that's a clever way to put it." She stood up, reaching out to the XO. "Here soldier let me help you up."

Anika made it clear that she choose this constalation because we are tight knit like a family & you for your ability to make everything works, that doesn't mean you aren't allowed to open up & make friends."

"I just don't want to be dragged into all this drama that can unroll, I made myself enough enemies as you where down. Can we not just make this a usual mission?"

⬅️ his feet. He leaned himself against the locker before sliding down still grabbing his towel. Kira in the mean while stood up, took a second look on the Foto while rubbing her back. She smiled at the First officer. "No worries your secret is save with me."
He moaned frustrated: "It's not a secret... Well not in general, that part however."
Kira kneeled down & sat next to him handing him the picture.
"Is it from a convention?"

"No."

"Jenkins, I promise not to laugh or to judge. On my rank as acting Captain & under XO's, let us talk like adults, you are always making a secret out of your private life."

He shock his head looking fairly annoyed.
"If you insist it was my second wedding & of course I make a secret out of it because all this family stuff has no place on ➡️

⬅️ the slammed shut door started squeakingly open itself again and a printed picture fell out, gently waving down like a leaf in the wind.

Fir Jenkins this was a slow motion moment as he jumped forward, aiming for the picture only to slam his head into the locker door. "Ungh SWEX. He stumbled backwards the hand holding his towel tight the other trying to balance his body. Kira reacted in no time closing the locker with one hand, diving forward to prevent the XO hitting the ground face first and even managed to snack the picture out of the air as the XO stumbled forwards covering her back with his body.

Kira got a look at the picture and suppressed a smirk, which wasn't difficult thanks to the pain in her back through the second in command. He pushed himself back to ➡️

Kira walked up the small gangway to the dressers at the Cargohold, her shift had ended 5 minutes ago & she now wanted to release some steam. Jenkins had just finished his training as it seemed, wearing a towel around his hip, upper body free & giving of this sence of a freshly showered human with a decent smelling aura of freshness, Standing, one hand on the lockers door that covered his face, sorting stuff inside.

"Not unpleasant," she thought than said; "Jenkins, how was the training?"
The XO almost jumped, grabing his chest as his towel started to slyde, he barely catched it while simultaneously slamming his locker shut. Startled he looked at her: "SWEX, Captain... Huh! You scared the hell out of me." He took a releaving breath and smiled only to see in horror as ➡️

Tell us about something that will always make your SC laugh.

XO Jenkins is a person that has a lot of passion in his not on duty time. He & his husband have a costume tayloring workshop where they produce their own cosplays/costumes for themselves, the local theater/movie/NIN entertainment group & even produce on demand for people all over the union if their time allows it.
He smiles every morning on shore leave when he wakes up next to his husband. On missions he is very reserved & mostly enjoying his time alone, thinking of his husband & what crazy costumes they could come up with. That's the times he smiled the 2. most.

Most with their Families and loved ones at home or doing the job they feel "called for" this is a remaining artifact concept from the German Beruf.
Work you do or "a job" but comes from "die Berufung" which means "call to be a" _____ literally the same like in "call to be an epic mage that safes the world" "call to be the fates chosen one" etc.
Yes German work culture was and in sadly only parts is way more than the stuff you do to survive or make money to survive. But the concept was taken on by terrans and other union species.
