I saw Ellison at Oracle World in SFO some years back - super bright, super crazy, and wedded to the tech-bro pissing contest, like all of them.
Halfway along half the audience had left because the ākeynoteā turned into a recitation of granular technical details a few engineers might still find useful but the rest of the crowd grew bored with.
Lotsa trash-talking the competition as well, salesforce.com then being a target Larry obviously relished grinding under heel.

We need new laws to limit surveillance, both public and private, not encourage it.
