Sorry everybody. I appear to be angry about politics this morning. And whilst that makes for good social media engagement, I really do try my very best to avoid it because it makes me crazy. And I don't mean hyperbolically - I mean it makes me breakdown and disassociate and fall into an infinite black sea of poisonous angry depression, which takes me days and sometimes weeks to come back out of, destroying everything that is good in my life. So I'm keen not to do that. Let us move through it and over it. Billy Joel said it best - 'Oh, la, la-la, di-dee-da. La-la, di-dee-da, da-dum' - wise words I'm sure you'll agree. Anyway let's change the subject. Who wants to hear about some guy smuggling thousands of individually packed ants to illegally sell to what are apparently known as 'ant enthusiasts'? Yeah you do....
The UK is seeking to grant ministers wide-ranging new powers to rewrite significant portions of the Online Safety Act through amendments tucked into two unrelated bills.
The changes would allow ministers to amend the act by adding as much as a third to the regulatory regime using so-called Henry VIII clauses, limiting Parliament to a simple yes-or-no vote on an unforeseeable number of new rules, rather than full debate or amendment.

Have you seen this news?
#Mastodon just got funding to add end to end encryption into their software.
So, some time next year, you’ll be able to send truly private messages to the vast majority of the #Fediverse
Im so excited about this.
Because it’s an open spec, this opens the doors for every Fediverse app to join the party.
Yesterday, this project was a proof of concept. Today, Mastodon has turned it into a stampede.

The Hungarian PM had sought the backing of the Trump administration to see his struggling party over the line in elections to shape the future of Europe. Instead, it appears that the President’s backing may have harmed his chance, writes James C. Reynolds
Viktor Orbán passed a law labeling gay people as pedophiles. He banned Budapest Pride and made it a criminal offense to attend with €500 fines organizers facing prison time. And when people showed up anyway, he let police use facial recognition to hunt them down at the parade.
Millions of Hungarians stood in lines for hours to say they've had enough.
I pray we are inspired by them. #USPolitics
