One could spend all day every day telling folks using "mental activity words" to describe LLM output that they are wrong.

It does not "know", it does not "think", it does not "guess", it does not "figure out", it does not "reason", it does not "decide", it does not "feel", it does not "opine", it does not "believe", it does not "see", it does not "lie", it does not do *anything* you'd use a mental activity word for.

And every time they do it, anyway? They make the world just a little worse.

Yep. I'm a cishet dude. Gender dysphoria and euphoria were concepts I had to learn about a few years ago and examine within myself. Determined I'm actually good with myself as I watch so much of this BS where guys are trying to prove to themselves they are men.

Latest version I heard about was The Sigma Male. Oh, just fuck off.

Use your strength to help, and accept help. Teach what you can, and learn from others. Be a _partner_ if you're into people, and raise your children to be good people if you do the parent thing.

I want to teach a class on repurposing electronics. We could start out just taking some broken things apart and seeing if we can fix them, but every student would have to pick something to repurpose or revive as a semester-long project. Maybe they want to turn an old propane lantern into an LED lantern, convert a cordless drill with dead nicad batteries to lithium, or jailbreak an e-bike. Everyone should leave the class with a device or appliance with a new lease on life. A community college should hire me for this

Today's anarchic thought that won't go away -
Someone with a large platform should interview Sam Altman, but not actually him, just one of these LLMs pretending to be him.
Make the point that if they think it doesn't matter if real people are involved in art, we don't have to include fucking layabout CEOs who are actively trashing the planet either. THEY can easily be replaced with LLMs, because they already spout unreliable bullshit.

At lunchtime I completed and uploaded an appraisal of a script. Two hours later, I had an email from the author, expressing pleasure with the appraisal and surprise it was not AI generated.

The current crop of LLMs could NOT do the very basic job I do with these scripts. AI is bullshit we neither want nor need and I am so sick of hearing about it.
